Certified Tutor

I am a 4th grade teacher and I have a Master's degree in Elementary Reading and a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education. As a parent and teacher, I understand how today's academics are set at a very high rigor and this can be a very daunting task for both parent and student alike. I have experience working with all types of learners and those that have very special needs. I present my instruction in buildable chunks of information. All students will feel successful as long as the information is presented in a manageable and understandable manner. Each bit of my lesson builds upon each other. It is important for students to be able to build on their prior knowledge in order to retain new information. I am very flexible and employ a wide range of teaching strategies that will cater to the specific learning style of the student. I provide continuous positive reinforcement and I truly believe in making every student feel successful in their learning. I am also ESL certified and I speak Spanish.
