Certified Tutor

Ari tutors elementary, middle, and high school students in reading, researching, and writing for English and Social Studies classes. He is excited about giving students the support they need to reach their full potentials. He is knowledgeable about reading and writing pedagogy, history and literature, accommodating students with disabilities, and helping students organize their study approach. He is patient, supportive, enthusiastic, creative, and a good listener. He has a PhD in Philosophy from the New School for Social Research, and a classical, liberal arts undergraduate education from St John's College. While pursing his doctorate, he taught for a number of years as an adjunct college instructor offering a range of philosophy courses. He also tutored college and graduate students in two different college writing centers. In 2015, Ari obtained a State of Maryland Standard Teaching Certificate in English and Special Education. For three years, he taught Middle School Reading English/ Language Arts and Social studies at John Hanson Montessori School, a K-8 Prince George's County Public School. His hobbies are reading, watching movies, and cooking.
