I am a President's Scholar student at Bard College majoring in Biology. I am a first generation college student, and I have excelled in my challenging coursework through hard work. My academic prowess has been recognized by several Ivy League schools. I have been interviewed by Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, Princeton, and the University of Pennsylvania, and accepted into Cornell. I have over five years of teaching experiences. I tutored high school underclassmen as a member of the National Honors Society and International Language Honors Society in Chemistry, Biology, and Calculus. I have experience teaching students of all ages through working in the Bronx Zoo Educational Department as a Discovery Guide, where I educated zoo visitors about wildlife conservation. I am proficient in reading, writing, and speaking in Spanish. I was raised by a native Spanish speaker, and have excelled in courses such as AP Spanish Language. Outside of academia, I am also a USCF competitive chess player, and have gone to chess tournaments since I was in middle school. In addition, I am currently self-publishing my own comic on Webtoon, which has garnered an audience of 542 subscribers and has gone viral on Tiktok several times. I have a mastery of Procreate, a digital art software, and Shapr3D, a 3D modeling software. I have a great understanding of anatomy and proportions, as well as insider knowledge about creating comics.
