Certified Tutor

I received my Bachelors degree from the University of So. California and my Masters degree in Education from California State University in Chico California. I am certified as an online instructor, using a WEBCT platform. I have tutored and taught adult students from other countries at the American Language and Culture Institute as well as English language learners at a community college. The subject I prefer to teach is English, especially writing. My writing improved as a Graduate Student as I was required to write numerous papers. So I know first-hand that practice makes perfect! I love to help people in general but I particularly like to help students because I am a firm believer that succeeding in education will help you to succeed in life. I learned that from my father, who wasn't able to attend college because he had to work to help his family. He was sure to teach his children how important education is to success. Outside of academics, I love live music, the outdoors, animals, my dog in particular, theater, volunteering and recently, kayaking. I live in New Orleans because it's a city where we celebrate diversity and life with music and parades.
