Discovering Unique Solutions for Diverse Learners
Finding innovative ways to tackle challenges allows students with varying learning styles to experience success. The key for students is to identify their personal path to achievement. It's equally important to acknowledge their individuality and the strengths they possess. My teaching philosophy has always centered around building relationships and fostering understanding. Students must feel heard to ignite their motivation to learn.
I hold an Honours Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Criminology from the University of Toronto. After having children, I earned my teaching degree in Ontario from York University in 2006. Over the past 15 years, I have worked as a teacher, tutor, and mentor. Three years ago, I relocated to British Columbia, where I now teach and tutor.
My experience spans English and Math, as well as Geography, History, Psychology, and Science, and I also provide tutoring in these subjects. Additionally, I assist with organizational skills, study techniques, and planning. While I specialize in teaching students with Learning Differences, my approach is inclusive of all learners.
As a student, I was a conventional learner who often memorized information without grasping the underlying concepts. However, as I transitioned into teaching, I learned various methods to approach questions. I found that these alternative strategies often benefited many students, enabling them to better understand the material. Every student holds the potential for success; it is our role to help them discover the right key to unlock it.

I have a deep love for books — reading them, discussing them, and even listening to them during my daily commute. In my free time, I engage in volunteer work, enjoy playing games on my phone, dedicate time to writing my book, and take trips to the ocean to walk or read.
