Hello, students! My name is Amy and I love tutoring on this platform.
I graduated from Southeastern Illinois College/Southern Illinois Collegiate Common Market and received my AS as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in 2014. I have also obtained my AAS as a Veterinary Technician in 2003 from Parkland College in Champaign, IL. I am currently working on my Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.

I have worked in a school setting for 8 years, specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, anxiety, and Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.
with a focus on Sensory Processing, self-care skills, emotional regulation, behavior management, cognitive training, nutrition, healthy lifestyles, environmental modification, advocacy, safety awareness, community integration, school-based work, vocational skills, family/caregiver education, and home management tasks. As well as handwriting, money management, and reading comprehension. I am certified as a Brain Injury Specialist, Qualified Brain Injury Provider, Autism Informed Professional, and Reflex Integration.

My favorite subjects to tutor on are Special Education, learning differences, organizational and study skills, kinesiology, and OTA. My teaching style is multimodal using mainly hands on learning with interactive lectures. I firmly believe to get the most out of learning, it should be fun and engaging.
