Certified Tutor

I graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Marine and Freshwater Biology. I then went on to complete a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Biology at Wilfrid Laurier University. I am currently a Bachelor of Education (BEd) student at Lakehead University and my teachables are biology and general science. During my MSc degree, I was a teaching assistant for various undergraduate biology classes - including Genetics, Advanced Vertebrate Microscopic Anatomy, and Biological Diversity and Evolution. I have also taught skating lessons through the Canada wide CanSkate Program. During my BEd program, I have taught various level high school biology, science, and math courses. My favourite courses to teach is biology and math! I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment for my students, that not only encourages them to grow academically but to also grow socially and emotionally. In my teaching, I like to approach the topic/problem in a few different ways to help students visualize and/or conceptualize the scenario, but also help them to understand the relevance and applicability to their lives. I want all my students to leave a session with a feeling of accomplishment. Outside of academics, I like to be in nature, probably in water (swimming) or on it (kayaking) and play sports such as volleyball, golf, and skating.
