I am a public health professional focusing on aging and healthcare issues, and a licensed physical therapist assistant. As a PTA I've worked in home health, skilled nursing, inpatient rehab and acute care and have taken additional training in geriatrics. In 2021 I received my Master in Public Health degree, and I have worked in healtchare and public health for 12 years. My current area of focus is building partnerships with long-term care to reduce healthcare-associated infections and I previously worked on older adult falls prevention, with and emphasis on the connection between falls and dementia. I've presented at state, national and international conferences and enjoy coaching others to build their presentation skills as well. I find working with students very fulfilling, especially helping them to gain confidence in their subject area and their skills. I have been honored to mentor and be a clinical supervisor for students on more than ten occasions. When working with students, I encourage them to ask questions, seek out new information and practice skills that are new to them.
