I've always believed that teaching is something that should only be done by those who actually want to teach. It sounds simple enough, but I have come across my fair share of professors who only teach to further their own agendas. If your intentions are elsewhere, then it becomes very apparent in what you teach and the only ones that ultimately end up suffering are the students. That is why I strive to be a teacher that other students would actually want to learn from.
I've tutored before and it has been a fulfilling experience for me. I like a collaborative approach to teaching because it helps both me and the student learning from me to gain the most out of our sessions together. I get to build a customized relationship with each student that caters to their needs while they learn from a tutor that teaches them concepts at their pace in a way they can retain in the long-term.
I recently graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor's Degree in Science, with a Major in Biological Sciences and Minor in Sociology. I was able to attain my degree with distinction. With enough experience, I plan on going forward and pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and eventually going into pharmaceutical research and development.
I tutor a wide range of subjects but I am partial towards anything Biology related, as it is my specialty. However, I do consider myself qualified to teach many other subjects given enough time to review the material. I keep forgetting that I graduated high school back in 2017 so I might be a little rusty with some concepts, but it's nothing a little revision won't fix.
Outside of academics, I love the arts. That's partially why I wanted a well-rounded degree that combined both sciences and arts, which I feel is an accurate representation of who I am as a person. I am part of an executive team of a club on the UofA campus called OSD (Open Styles Dance), where I manage choreography and performances. This is just one of many extracurricular activities I take part in, as I also volunteer on campus from time to time with the student union and help out with some family members with their businesses as well.

I have been dancing since I was 4 years old, so it is safe to say that it is a significant part of my life. I am classically trained in a classical Indian dance form called Bharatanatyam, and I am self-taught in other styles such as hip-hop and vogue. Aside from dance, I love singing and acting as well. I have done many shows and musical performances in high school before that range from Drama classes that I took from Grades 10-12 and musical theatre performances. I phased out some of it after I entered university as I had to prioritize my academics a little bit more, but my love for singing and acting has still remained. I used to love painting when I was younger, which as I got older, transformed into my love for makeup. I started using at a way to cover up my insecurities, but I later learned to appreciate it as an art form and started practicing it on everyone else until I became good enough to amass a client base. I even do my mom's makeup from time to time. With all that being said, I like to think that I like a lot of the same things as others such as spending quality time with friends and watching a good movie/TV series.
