Certified Tutor

I became passionate about the fire service as an Explorer and a volunteer firefighter in high school. I began seeking a career immediately after graduation while in Paramedic School at UAB. I sat for many an exam and dropped in on many fire chiefs years ago so I can relate to the challenge of entry level tests.

I spent over 3 decades as a firefighter/paramedic with the last 15 as a company officer. I also served 2 years in the Cobb County (GA.) Training Division where I was a recruit school coordinator. I have written curriculum, hands on courses, and spoken at conferences. I presently assist a cadre of instructors in a firefighter survival course that addresses tactical resilience.

As I mentioned above, I received my paramedic training at The University of Alabama at Birmingham. I also completed an Associate Degree in Occupational Health & Safety in 2020. In the interim I took hundreds of hours of training classes on a variety of topics. The bulk of this training was at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center.

I tutor candidates seeking employment in the fire service. I can tutor you for the entry level written test, but I can also assist you in preparing for your interview or promotion during an assessment center.

I believe that your study time should be productive but also enjoyable. I want you to understand the correct answers to the exam but also WHY they are the correct answers. I believe this will help you once you pass the exam and actually get on the job.

When I'm not tutoring students, I'm raising my daughter and two boys, who are active in sports. I also appreciate the outdoors.
