Hello, I am your new tutor and I am excited to be working with you! This will be my first experience with teaching/tutoring professionally. None-the-less, I am excited to work with you and help you grow personally and academically.
What inspired me to want to become a tutor? Well, a couple of reasons. When I was younger, one of my dream jobs was becoming a teacher. I was one of odd balls that kind of liked school growing up.
The other reason is that I understand how tutoring can be a lifesaver to kids who struggle with a subject in school. It can be surprising to hear how many kid still struggle with school. And I can relate on having trouble with a couple of subjects (mainly math and Spanish). During that time, I would ask my family to help with some of my schoolwork, but there was only so much they could help me. The only way I was able to pass math and Spanish was through tutoring, extra credit opportunities, and adapting my studying habits. While I never quite understood everything, I did at least feel confident enough that I could pass the class. It can be surprising, but I can relate to when a student will struggle with a subject in school. They want help but maybe embarrassed to ask, or they fear they will never understand it. But this is why I want to help become a tutor, to help kids gain better confidence in their work so that they can strive as they get older.
I graduated at Central High School in the Keller District with a mostly A and B average.
Then I attended Tarrant County Community College (NE campus). I attended for 6 years and earned three Associate's degrees. First was the Associate of Art, then Visual Arts, and finally Graphic Communication. I also became a member of the Phi Delta Kappa honor society.
Then I went to Southern New Hampshire University online. I graduated last year with a Bachelor's degree in Game Art and Development. I also made the Dean's list several times in my college career.
I have a lot of experience with studio artwork, particularly drawing and painting. While experimenting with other forms of art, I began to study and work with digital art mediums. I have the most experience working with Adobe Photoshop by roughly seven years. During my time at TCC, I learned how to use Adobe Publisher, Illustrator, Microsoft Excel, and Brackets (a web design program).
When I attended SNHU, I expanded and learned how to utilize 3D programs for building and designing pieces. I worked with 3DS Max, then Mudbox, and developed the basics for Unreal Engine 4.
I am currently tutoring for art and digital art programs.
Outside of art, video games, and animation, I have always had a fascination with history, animals, and mythology.
