As a tutor I hope to inspire you with same curiosity about people and the world that I feel.
My schooling was in Canada at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, and at McGill University in Montreal. In those days I was seeking music training which included arts courses such and languages, history and culture. My masters degree is in music, and because of the music training I have travelled to most places in the world and worked with people from around the world. I study other cultures and am a student of history.
I enjoy tutoring and working with people of all ages in a one-on-one setting, and particularly love beginners and young learners. In 2018 I started as an ESL teacher online and found that incorporating music and TPR (total physical response) came naturally to me.
Literacy and reading are my favourite subjects but I can also tutor in history, music subjects such as vocal training and theory as well as geography. Language has always been an interest of mine and writing poetry was a hobby when I was young. Writing songs comes naturally to me so using the sound and cadence of words is something I am attuned to.
My teaching style is relaxed, and I like for students to feel comfortable and at ease with me.
Aside from music and reading my hobbies include travel, cooking, gardening, pets and spirituality.
