I am passionate about helping students because I believe education opens doors to new opportunities and personal growth. Working with students, especially in ESL, allows me to make a tangible difference in their lives by helping them develop skills that are essential for communication, integration, and success in a globalized world. It's incredibly fulfilling to witness the moment a student connects with a new concept, builds confidence in their language abilities, and starts to express themselves more fluently.
My experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) has been diverse, mostly teaching personalized one-on-one sessions. I've had the opportunity to work with students from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds, which has deepened my understanding of the unique challenges they face. Each student comes with their own story and motivation for learning English, and I enjoy crafting lessons that resonate with their individual needs and goals.
I am TEFL certified, and I completed my education at York University, earning a degree in Linguistics. Currently, I am focused on enhancing my ESL teaching skills and staying updated with new language teaching methodologies. My goal is to create a positive and engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to improve their language skills and communicate confidently.
While I tutor a range of subjects, I specialize in ESL, which is also my favourite subject to teach. I find language learning incredibly rewarding because it's more than just mastering grammar or vocabulary; it's about giving students the tools to express themselves, connect with others, and navigate new environments. Seeing students gain the confidence to use English in real-world situations is what I enjoy most about tutoring.

Outside of teaching, I have a variety of hobbies that keep me balanced and energized. I love reading because it allows me to continually learn and discover new perspectives. Exploring cafes is a fun way for me to engage with my local community, find new environments to work or relax, and enjoy the simple pleasure of a good cup of coffee. Spending time with friends is important to me because it strengthens my connections and reminds me of the value of communication, something I also try to instill in my students. I also enjoy baking, which requires patience, precision, and creativity—skills I find parallel to teaching. It’s a rewarding process that, much like learning, involves trial and error but ultimately results in something fulfilling. Running, pilates, and swimming help me stay active and focused, giving me the mental and physical energy to stay on top of my work and maintain a healthy lifestyle. These activities keep me grounded, and I believe they also reflect the balance I encourage my students to find between their studies and personal interests.
