What can Chicago GMAT test preparation cover?

The GMAT exam consists of four subjects: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. There are thousands of business programs all over the world that recognize this test. You don't need to bring any writing utensils or other supplies because you take the exam on a computer. Including breaks, the time limit for it is three hours and 30 minutes. Learn more about each section.

The Verbal Reasoning portion is the longest one on the exam with 36 multiple-choice questions. You have to finish it in 65 minutes, and it includes critical reasoning, sentence correction, and reading comprehension. You'll earn a score between 0 and 60.

The Quantitative Reasoning portion has 31 multiple-choice questions that you have to complete in 62 minutes. It covers problem-solving and data sufficiency. Like the Verbal Reasoning portion, you'll earn between 0 and 60 points. Calculator use is forbidden, but you can use scratch paper and markers provided by the test center.

The Integrated Reasoning portion has 12 multiple-choice questions divided into many parts. You need to answer them in 30 minutes. Its questions deal with two-part analysis, multi-source reasoning, table analysis, and graphics interpretation. You'll earn a score between 1 and 8, and you can use a calculator that the test center provides to answer the problems.

The Analytical Writing portion contains only one essay question that you're required to complete in half an hour. It presents an argument that you need to thoroughly analyze. You'll earn a score between 0 and 6.

What are the benefits of each Chicago GMAT prep option?

A Varsity Tutors educational consultant can connect you with prep courses or private instruction to help you review the GMAT. Each option possesses its own unique benefits. Some students even combine these options to get the best of both worlds. Learn more about how a prep class or individualized tutoring can assist you in pursuing your objectives.

Throughout your academic career, you've likely gotten comfortable with the classroom learning environment. A Chicago GMAT prep course is similar to that except you don't need to go anywhere to study. That's because all prep courses take place in a virtual online classroom, enabling you to communicate with a teacher and other pupils via your computer. You can choose to enroll in either a two-week course or a four-week course. Each one is held on a weekly basis, so you'll have more time to tend to other responsibilities in your life. During the courses, you and your peers work in groups to go over parts of the exam. Feel free to strengthen your data analyzation skills for the Integrated Reasoning questions or collaborate to compose a well-argued essay for the Analytical Writing assessment.

Your instructor can also try to help you prepare for exam day by offering handy test-taking strategies. They can suggest what to do when you're stuck between two correct-sounding answers or assist you with interpreting questions that confound you. You can even lend support to a student who's has a question about a particular type of problem, and they can do the same for you. A prep course is very beneficial since you can simply ask from help from your fellow students or teacher. While you can study on your own, you may get stuck on something with no one to help you, or you may become easily distracted. When you study with others, they can keep you on track as well as encourage you.

If you prefer working with a private educator, we can set up with someone who's skilled with one-on-one test preparation. Because you're the mentor's only student during each session, you're able to get direct attention focused on anything you're struggling to understand. For example, if you find a certain topic difficult to comprehend, a tutor can try to help you understand it better by explaining it at a slower pace. They can even teach you in a way that appeals to your learning style. For instance, if you learn best through working with your hands, an instructor can provide building tools. In addition, you can adopt better study skills during a tutoring session like creating a study schedule or taking breaks between assignments. An educator is willing to help you in any way possible to help you develop the skills and confidence you need to perform at your best.
