Reach out to Varsity Tutors if you are looking for a Chicago NCLEX class. Whether you studied at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Loyola University Chicago, or another university in the area, you can gain from reviewing what you learned before you take the NCLEX. You will need to pass the NCLEX in order to get a license to work as a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse.
What topics can I learn about during a Chicago NCLEX course?
There are two versions of the National Council Licensure Examination. The NCLEX-RN is administered to prospective Registered Nurses, while the NCLEX-PN is administered to prospective Vocational/Practical Nurses. Both exams are developed and administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN).
The NCLEX uses a computerized adaptive testing (CAT) system. The way it works is that every time you answer a question, the system assesses your skill and knowledge level, based on all of the answers you have submitted. They then choose a question that matches your knowledge level, which they expect you to have a 50 percent chance of answering correctly. This way, the exam will not be too difficult or too easy for you.
Not only might the questions you are presented with be different than the ones presented to other examinees, but the number of questions might be different as well. On the NCLEX-RN, you will have between 75 and 265 questions, with a maximum testing time of six hours. On the NCLEX-PN, you will have between 85 and 205 questions, with a maximum testing time of five hours.
Both exams center around client needs. The core topics are the same on both exams. However, sub-topics differ. For example, both exams have questions about providing a safe and effective care environment. However, only the NCLEX-RN has questions about care management and only the NCLEX-PN has questions about coordinated care, while both have questions about safety and infection control. Other issues that you will be tested on include the nursing process, caring for and interacting with clients, communicating with clients (verbally and nonverbally), documenting events and activities, teaching and learning, and culture and spirituality.
How can I gain from taking a Chicago NCLEX course?
Our virtual classes take place over the internet. You will not have to leave the comfort of your home in order to attend. You can save time and money by skipping the commute through the hectic Chicago traffic, while still benefiting from class instruction. You will be able to see, hear, and interact with the class teacher and the other students through the use of video chat. Our Live Learning Platform can make you feel as if you were sitting in the same room as the teacher and the other students. The virtual whiteboard is a great tool that can be used to enhance your lessons.
Enrolling in a virtual Chicago NCLEX prep course is a great way to get a comprehensive review of the information you will need to know for the NCLEX. Your teacher can introduce study materials that make the classes interesting and enjoyable. You can ask questions and answer questions posed by other students. Explaining concepts to other students can help you gain a deeper understanding of them yourself. The teacher can encourage class discussions so that students can share opinions and insights.
If you feel as if you need clarification about a topic or want to ask questions you did not get a chance to during class, you can request private time with your teacher outside of class. The teacher can give students a list of recommended books and resources that students can find online or at the library which can aid in your test preparation.
Your teacher can also work on the students' test-taking skills. One of the skills you will need to know for the NCLEX is being able to pace yourself when answering questions with a deadline. Your teacher can administer practice tests to help you get ready. Keep in mind that since the NCLEX uses computerized adaptive testing, you cannot go back to a question once you have submitted an answer to it.

I try to impart this appreciation to all my students since their everyday lives are impacted by STEM concepts and developments. In my spare time, I enjoy walking the talk as an environmentalist. I love gardening, developing certified backyard bird and butterfly habitats, reading, playing board games, and taking daily walks in the local forest preserves.
