Studying for your NCLEX can be challenging, but a Dayton NCLEX prep course offered by Varsity Tutors could help. If you're an entry-level nurse the NCLEX could help you take your career to the next level. But the National Council of State Boards of Nursing definitely doesn't make it easy. Otherwise known as the NCSBN, this issuing body will assess a range of different nursing skills before it grants a certification. These assessments are carried out by one of two exams: the NCLEX-RN for registered nurses, and the NCLEX-PN for practical nurses. With the help of a solid prep course, you can reach for your full potential when you take the exam of your choice.
Many students who are approaching these exams already have a solid educational background at a university level. Perhaps you've studied medicine and related nursing topics at Wright State University, or Sinclair Community College. But even if you have an extensive wealth of knowledge, you could still face plenty of surprises on your upcoming NCLEX. That's why it's a good idea to take a prep course beforehand.
What Does A Dayton NCLEX Course Cover?
Your Dayton NCLEX course can give you a full overview of the NCLEX and everything you can expect to face, including specific topics and the overall format. One of the first things you're likely to learn is that the NCLEX uses a testing system called CAT, otherwise known as Computerized Adaptive Testing. This is a unique system that calculates your next question based on your previous ones. The CAT system tries to challenge you with questions that meet your ability level. If you successfully answer a difficult question, you may face an even harder question to follow. This system continues to challenge you as you move through the test, and the goal is always to match you with questions that you have a 50% chance of answering correctly. At the end of the test, you'll be assessed based on the difficulty of the questions you have successfully answered. It's a unique testing approach, and it requires equally unique studying methods as you approach this exam. This is why a prep course could be crucial.
The NCLEX-RN and the NCLEX-PN have a few notable differences, but they also follow the same basic format. You'll face the CAT system either way, and there's no set number of questions. The exam will stop at a certain point, whether you've only answered 75 to 85 questions, or as many as 205 to 265. You can also expect time limits of up to 5 or 6 hours.
When it comes to the topics of these questions, client needs are a major focus. This is fairly universal across both the NCLEX-RN and the NCLEX-PN, but there are a few topics only covered by certain exams. No matter which exam you're studying for, you'll still have to cover things like basic care and comfort, safety and infection care, reduction of risk potential, and much more. Your prep course can help you cover all the topics you need.
How Does A Dayton NCLEX Course Help Me Learn?
Your Dayton NCLEX course will take place in a virtual classroom, which means that you can access this study resource from anywhere in the world. As long as you have a computer with access to the internet, you can join other classmates and learn from a highly expert. These instructors must pass lengthy vetting processes to ensure you're learning from qualified individuals with strong communication skills. As you review and study important concepts pertaining to the NCLEX, you'll be encouraged to contribute to class discussions. You can ask questions, voice your opinion, and interact with other classmates. This often leads to a more engaged, enriched educational experience. Fellow students might raise interesting topics and help you explore concepts in greater depth. Many students feel that this collaborative style of learning is ideal for their unique needs.
