If you are hoping to make the most of your study time for the GMAT, Varsity Tutors can connect you to a San Antonio GMAT class. The GMAT is a key part of many business school applications. The Bill Greehey School of Business at St. Mary's University, for example, might look more favorably at your application if it includes a high GMAT score. Because the GMAT can have a significant impact on your academic career, it is worth the time and effort to get ready as thoroughly as possible.
The GMAT, or Graduate Management Admission Test, is a three and a half hour exam designed to indicate a person's readiness for the rigors of a business school environment. The skills and concepts the exam tests can give schools like the University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business a picture of your competencies and potential.
What am I able to review during a San Antonio GMAT course?
There are four main sections in the GMAT. These sections are Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning, and the Analytical Writing Assessment. Each section requires you to display different skills and types of thinking. During a San Antonio GMAT class, you can become familiar with the content of each of these sections and the skills required to succeed. Below is an overview of each of the main sections on the GMAT.
The Quantitative Reasoning section of the GMAT requires you to use logic and mathematical reasoning skills to deal with problems based around concrete information. The objective data you encounter requires you to understand data analysis, problem-solving, and logic. On some of the 31 multiple-choice questions in this section, you will be required to use the available data to answer a question. Other questions will ask you to determine whether there is enough relevant data to solve a problem accurately. This section takes 62 minutes to complete.
In the Verbal Reasoning section, you will need to analyze written data in a critical and effective manner. By drawing inferences, noticing logical relationships, and understanding effective English written communication, you should be able to solve the problems that appear in this section of the GMAT. During this 65 minute section, you will encounter 36 questions in the multiple-choice format. Both the Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning section are scored from 0 to 60. However, scores that fall in the 6 to 51 range are the most common.
The Integrated Reasoning portion asks you to understand and analyze data of various types. Some of the questions in this section will present data from a single source like a table or graph. However, several of the 12 questions in this section ask you to look at data from graphs, text, tables, and numbers. By integrating these various data points into your analysis, you are able to achieve a holistic understanding of a problem. You will have a half hour to complete this section, and scores for this section range from 1 to 8.
The Analytical Writing Assessment of the GMAT presents you with a written argument. You must then analyze this argument and discern which portions are effective and which are not. Then, you will write a response of your own that integrates evidence from the original piece into your argument. This section will examine your ability to evaluate an argument, make an effective argument of your own, and structure your thoughts. This section is scored by a computer program and a trained evaluator. The computer will focus on the structure of your writing while the evaluator will focus on the overall strength of your argumentation. You will have 30 minutes to complete this part of the GMAT, and your score will fall between 0 and 6.
What can a San Antonio GMAT course do to help me prepare?
A San Antonio GMAT class can provide you with flexibility, group learning, and collaborative instruction. Whether you are continuing on to business school after your undergraduate years or you are returning to school to advance your career, you probably have a full schedule. Fortunately, you can take a San Antonio GMAT class at a time that works for you. These classes run for either two or four-week sessions, and you can decide which option is best for your schedule and needs. Additionally, there are new sessions that start every week, so you can begin your preparation whenever you are ready. There are sessions at multiple times throughout the week, which lets you study for the GMAT according to your schedule. Because your classes take place online, attending is easier than ever. All you need is an internet connection. You can attend from your lunch break at work, after class, or at your favorite coffee shop over the weekend.
During your sessions, you and your classmates will meet with your instructor in a live virtual classroom. This allows for real-time interactions between you, your peers, and your instructor. You can hear and see lectures and demonstrations, ask questions, and participate in class discussions. By learning in a group environment, you have a chance to interact with the material in a number of ways which can help you to internalize your learning. Additionally, the different perspectives of the different students in your class can help you to see the content in new ways. Your instructor can even lead the class through the preparation of test-taking strategies. These strategies can help you to answer questions more efficiently and effectively.

In a tutoring session, a student should feel open to ask questions and express concerns. Outside of academics,...
