The Analytical Writing Assessment consists of one essay question in which you will need to evaluate a given argument with clearly presented and organized ideas. The 30-minute Integrated Reasoning section has 12 questions assessing your ability to find and evaluate relationships between various sources of graphical data. The questions in this section are often multi-step and must be answered in full to receive credit. GMAT prep for this portion of the exam can include table analysis, graphics interpretation, multi-source reasoning, and two-part analysis.

The next section evaluates your Quantitative Reasoning skills with 31 questions and a 62-minute time limit. You'll need to use both logic and mathematics skills to solve problems in this section. Practicing these kinds of questions under instructional supervision can help you gain the confidence needed to get through this section.

The final section is the Verbal Reasoning part of the exam and measures one's reading comprehension, sentence construction, and critical reasoning skills with 36 questions. This is the longest section and is allotted 65 minutes for completion.
