Varsity Tutors is the only name you need to know to kick your Seattle NCLEX prep into high gear. If you're looking for a structured learning environment in which to study for the exam, a Seattle NCLEX prep class could be the right fit for you. If you'd prefer a one-on-one experience, we can find you an independent Seattle NCLEX tutor in as little as 24 hours. Both are powerful services, and some students take advantage of both for the most comprehensive test prep possible.
The NCLEX is a high-stakes test that covers everything you've studied at a local nursing program such as the one at the University of Washington. It's designed to assess whether or not you have the requisite academic knowledge and skills to act as an entry-level nurse. There are actually two different NCLEX tests: the NCLEX-RN is intended for students hoping to become Registered Nurses, while the NCLEX-PN is for prospective Practical and Vocational Nurses. No matter which test you're preparing for, let us help you work toward your academic and professional goals.
What topics should my Seattle NCLEX preparation cover?
Both exams cover everything you've studied in nursing school, so you should prepare for topics such as infection control, physiological well-being, patient comfort, psychosocial integrity, and reducing patient risk. Certain topics, such as coordinated care (NCLEX-PN) and care management (NCLEX-RN), are exclusive to one exam or the other. You may also need to work with multimedia such as audio recordings or videos to answer some of the test items. If you have further questions concerning the content of the exam, a professional instructor can be a valuable resource to tap into.
You might also want to review the formatting of the NCLEX. Both exams are Computer-Adaptive, meaning that the system is designed to give you questions based on the proficiency you've demonstrated thus far. If you're getting everything right, the questions get harder. If you've missed on a few, they get easier. This format can be distracting, as there is a strong temptation to try and deduce how you're doing based on the perceived difficulty of the items you're getting. Of course, you're probably better off concentrating on the question in front of you.
What advantages does each of the Seattle NCLEX prep options available to me provide?
If you opt for a Seattle NCLEX prep course, you'll meet with a knowledgeable instructor and dedicated classmates at a set time each week to study for your exam. All sessions happen on our proprietary Live Learning Platform, mobile-friendly online classroom software that enables you to see and hear your fellow students as if you were in the same room. Features like video chat functionality give you a great study experience without the hassle of a commute that typically accompanies attending a course.
Studying in a group can also prove extremely beneficial. Multiple students can split the bill multiple ways, giving you great value for your money. You can also help each other out while the teacher is busy with another student. For example, explaining a challenging concept to somebody else can be a great way to reinforce your own understanding. Your classmates can also provide an alternate perspective to help you grasp important information.
If you'd rather study at your own pace, we can find you a private instructor who can work with you either online or in-person. Online study sessions take place on our Live Learning Platform, providing the benefits of face-to-face instruction without the logistical nightmare. Alternatively, you can meet your instructor at a local coffee shop, library, restaurant, or even your own home to make the experience as convenient as possible for you. Either way, you're always in complete control over when your sessions take place so that you can keep living your life as you study for the exam.
A private instructor can design study sessions around your preferred learning style for optimal efficiency. For example, a visual learner could get a lot out of an informative graphic listing which drugs should be used in which situations, while an auditory learner wouldn't benefit nearly as much. Instead, a lecture format featuring plenty of oral repetition may make it easier for an auditory learner to master key concepts. Similarly, a kinesthetic learner who studies best by doing can engage with interactive activities to make the most of their study sessions.
