Who will be getting tutoring?
No obligation. Takes ~1 minute.

I am comfortable, however, with upper level math classes (such as calculus), and science courses (biology, chemistry, and physics). I am in the process of applying to medical school as well. I have been fortunate to have already been accepted into a couple of schools. I would love to help you prepare for the MCATs and get a head start on your medical school application. I think this one-on-one tutoring model can be a powerful study method in preparing you for success in both the classroom and on standardized tests. In my spare time, I enjoy skiing, running, playing board games, and performing/learning magic tricks!

I am a 2019 graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where I received a dual degree BFA in Vocal Performance and BA in Creative Writing. I also achieved a GPA of 3.92, 3 semesters on the Dean's List, induction into Phi Beta Kappa as well as Sigma Tau Delta (the English honors society) and Pi Kappa Lambda (the Music honors society), Carnegie Mellon University Honors, and Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences Honors. I graduated Bloomfield Hills High School with a 3.96 GPA in 2015, and was a National Merit Finalist as well as a Presidential Scholarship candidate, thanks to my top test scores.
I am current student at Harvard Medical School. I attended Vassar College as an undergraduate where I studied Science, Technology and Society. I am a patient teacher and eager to work with students of all ages.
I'm interested in advocacy, public health, and immigration. My hobbies include hiking and spending as much time as possible outdoors, learning to play the guitar, learning new languages, running, and weight-lifting.
I am a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelors of Arts in English and Philosophy. At Notre Dame, I worked as a tutor at the University Writing Center, helping both undergraduate and graduate students with their writing. I also tutored local middle school students in reading and writing to prepare them for standardized tests. I had the opportunity to live in Spain for 6 months, where I became fluent in Spanish and developed a love for tutoring English language learners. Since graduation, I have worked with students at Midtown Educational Foundation and other extracurricular programs, and am currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Teaching English. I tutor a wide range of subjects, although I am most passionate about English, Spanish, and Writing. I am an advocate of student-centered tutoring, and my goal is to support and guide students so that they have the satisfaction and confidence of knowing how to think through a problem and reach the correct answer. In my free time, I love to bake, read, play soccer, and act in plays.
I'm a fourth year medical student in the Boston University Seven Year Accelerated Medical Program. This year I'm taking a year off to do research in clinical dermatology with Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital; I hope to eventually become a Pediatric Dermatologist!
I'm a recent college graduate from the University of Chicago and young professional based in Washington, DC, and currently working in international development. I have substitute taught STEM and English to all levels of college-preparatory high schoolers. I also established a peer-to-peer tutoring and mentoring program at my former high school and developed curricula centered around standardized test preparation and college admissions. In college, I coordinated outreach to promising underrepresented minority students, developing and implementing seminars designed to guide them through the admissions process for top universities, bolster their chances of success, and connect them with resources aimed at increasing access and affordability. Among other things, I have a strong background and experience in various types of academic and professional writing. My stints with college classes and all sorts of professional organizations have equipped me with foundational skills in technical writing, strategic communication, blogging, and journalism that I'm always excited to pass on to the next generation of academic superstars!
I am a current undergraduate student at Northeastern University working towards a pharmacy degree, while minoring in Biology and Chinese. I first started tutoring in high school through peer tutoring, working with students younger than me and tutoring them in subjects that I had excelled in. Besides helping them in purely academic subjects like Chemistry or Math, I also gave them tips to study better and other organizational skills, which help in daily life as well. I really enjoy working with students and working with them towards their goals, both academically and personally. I believe anyone can succeed as long as they are interested and are willing to put in the time and effort. When I work with students, I try to break down different problems into smaller chunks, and work through these smaller bits to understand the big picture. I know how frustrating it is to not understand something, and I try to work with each student to figure out their strengths and weaknesses. I think the most rewarding thing is when you see the student go "aha!" and understand something they have been struggling with, it really gives both of you a feeling of satisfaction and relief. Outside of school, I like to do ballroom dancing while drinking way too much coffee.
I'm a proud graduate of Cornell University (B.A. in Psychology, 2011) and William James College (M.A. in Psychology, 2014). I have founded my own business as a Productivity Coach, specializing in executive functioning and motivation. I also enjoy helping students learn with tutoring! My background means I am well suited to clients with test anxiety, and other psychological factors that interfere with academic potential. I have experience working with clients with ADD/ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
I am a senior at MIT majoring in Writing with a specialization in Digital Media. I have also completed a minor in Business Management. As one of ten writing majors at a school full of people pursuing science and technology rather than humanities subjects, I have taken a default position as tutor for anyone struggling with any writing assignments. I have helped fellow college students on a wide variety assignments ranging from analytic papers on race in the media, to papers on scientific theories, to scholarship essays. In high school I was a Link Crew tutor for three years, making myself available for tutoring sessions after school for whatever subject students required help in.
I am currently majoring in Biomedical Engineering at Boston University, under the Presidential Scholars Distinction Program. My hobbies include playing sports such as Soccer, Basketball, Football, Tennis and Track and Field. I also love playing the guitar in my spare time and love spending time with my family and friends. Further, I love learning about new cultures and languages; I am able to speak three languages fluently.
I am currently working on my PhD in English Literature at Southern Methodist University. I specialize in the intersection between ancient texts and Christianity as it is evident in Renaissance literature. During my MA I worked as a teacher's assistant, learning teaching strategies from many distinguished professors. Students met with me one on one to discuss assignments, work on papers, and review for tests. During these years I had the opportunity to work with several ESL students and students with disabilities. Being deaf in my right ear gives me a unique perspective when working with students struggling with disabilities because I have fought those battles myself, albeit to a smaller degree than some. I firmly believe that disabilities should never stand in the way of learning.
Analytical reasoning and logical structure aren't just test skills for Anthony — they're how his brain naturally works, sharpened by a psychology degree that required constant evaluation of arguments, assumptions, and evidence. He teaches both Logical Reasoning and Analytical Reasoning sections by breaking each question type into identifiable patterns, so students stop second-guessing and start eliminating wrong answers with confidence. Rated 5.0 by students.
I am an undergraduate student at Boston University studying in the Seven Year Liberal Arts/Medical Education Program (BSMD). I was a National AP Scholar, US Presidential Scholar Nominee, and in the top 5% of my class. Additionally, I worked as an intern in a graduate-level biochemistry lab researching the metabolically reversed reduction of aldehydes to alcohols.
I am also a fan of Super Smash Bros. Melee if you're into that.
I am confident that I can help ease the process for other students and even make it fun along the way!
I am an avid skier and outdoorswoman, and a passionate fan of Boston sports. As a tutor, I offer a broad range of scientific subjects, including Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and I am particularly passionate about Biochemistry and Microbiology. I also offer and enjoy test prep, including the SAT and independent school entrance exams such as the ISEE and SSAT. As an educator, I am passionate about helping every student, because I believe that everyone has the potential to succeed in Science and excel on standardized tests. I love the subjects I tutor and I strive to help my students appreciate the value of knowledge so they understand not only the material, but why it is relevant and important in their lives.
I am a college student looking to help fellow students who are in middle school through high school get to the next stages of their lives. School can get rough, and having someone there to help with any particular subjects or go over and review topics is helpful, and I want to be a part of that process.
Greetings, my name is Karthik! I studied at Northeastern University and earned a BS in math and physics, and I started tutoring formally in undergrad via a mix of online tutoring and university sponsored peer tutoring later taking on responsibilities as a student grader and TA. But well before I started formal tutoring, it was not uncommon for peers to remark that I explained things better than our teachers. While at first I was prone to lecturing due to my assumption that others found theory as elucidating as I did, my sessions are now dominated by working through problems provided by either the student or me. Also software visualization is a boon whenever my drawing skills don't pass muster. Ultimately, my purpose is to cultivate disciplined learning and excellence in STEM, whether that be for a class or purely out of curiosity/passion, so please do not hesitate to reach out if you think I can help you achieve your goals.
I am a recent graduate from Emerson College. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing with a focus on fiction. In addition, I minored in psychology and photography. I am experienced in academic and personal essay writing as well as fiction and poetry.
I am a freshman at Northeastern University. I am currently studying Psychology on a Pre-Med track. Even though my studies are heavily science-based, I enjoy all other subjects, as well. I tutored in high school as Vice-President of the National Honor Society and I am looking forward to continuing my passion for helping others through tutoring.
I am excited to return to this work during my upcoming senior year.
I'm majoring in Computer Science and Biology at Northeastern University, I like to dance, and my main goal is to help you achieve your goals.
I'm a patient and results-driven Computer Science student at Northeastern University with years of experience tutoring students in math and computer science. I specialize in breaking down complex topics, such as calculus, algebra, geometry, and programming, into manageable, step-by-step lessons that meet each student's unique learning style. My goal is to not only help students improve their grades but also build confidence in their academic abilities. Whether you're preparing for an exam or need help staying on top of your classwork, I'm here to support your success.
I am very dedicated to being patient and working with each student to make sure they understand what they are doing and so they are able to be less stressed. I have been tutoring math for many years and am looking forward to meeting you and/or your student. (Just a heads up - I recently got a hair cut so my photo doesn't reflect my current hairstyle)
I am willing to tutor in specific topics tested there as well (all the topics mentioned above, but also Physics, and psychology and sociology).
I am a postdoctoral research fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School where I am continuing to perform biomedical research. When I am not in the lab, you can find me exploring historical sites and hiking outdoors.
I am a very outgoing and friendly person, which translates well to working with students. I do my best to understand where the student is coming from and work from there. Currently, I am a student at Northeastern University, but I also work with people with disabilities in a marketing setting. I can tutor Math, Science and English, and I would love to help you anyway that I can!
I am a research engineer and have 5 years of work experience as an engineer. In addition, I have worked with students throughout high school, college and post-college as a tutor. While I tutor a variety of math and science subjects, I prefer to tutor math. Algebra has always been my favorite subject with chemistry as my second favorite and is what I am most passionate about. I find that it is easiest for students to understand the subject when it is related to something they are interested in outside of the classroom. In my free time, I enjoy playing sports, especially soccer, as well as reading and occasionally running. I am also an avid NY Giants fan.
I'm currently a graduate student at Boston University getting my master's in Mathematics Secondary Education. I did my undergrad at West Virginia University, where I majored in History and minored in German and Math.
I am a tutor who primarily operates with math and science. I am currently a freshman at Northeastern University, majoring in Behavioral Neuroscience. I have been a tutor for about two years, tutoring in an eclectic range of subjects in the math and sciences field. Please feel free to contact me if you would like. I look forward to working with you!
I'm not tutoring, I spend my time writing and performing spoken word poetry, riding my bike around Boston, and learning to cook.
I am available to tutor in a broad range of subjects, though I am most passionate about Economics, History, and Civics. Please feel free to contact me and I would be happy to arrange a session.
I'm Cindy! I'm a freshman at Harvard University and graduated from San Mateo High School this past year. I love to teach and have years tutoring students of all ages in a variety of subjects. Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions or would like to schedule a tutoring session!
I am available for support, remind the student of her resources, and reconnect the student with long-term goals.
I am a private tutor with over ten years of experience on the SATs, College Essays & Applications, English, History, Math, TOEFL, and the like. I have taught for over seven years, including at such prestigious institutions as Choate Rosemary Hall, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude from Fordham University with a triple major in English, Philosophy, and American studies. I have two masters' degrees, and am a certified teacher in the State of Massachusetts.
I am a certified elementary and ESL teacher committed to my students and their learning. I am passionate about teaching and love finding new ways to help my students.
I am currently a Nursing student at St. Joseph School of Nursing in Nashua NH. I studied Biomedical Sciences with a major in Medicine from the University of Buea in Cameroon, West Africa. I travelled around Cameroon, working for a non-governmental organization called "Let Children Learn" tutoring students in rural areas of the country. These included students who could not afford to go to school and worked on their own in small groups in order to achieve their educational goals. Since moving to the United States, I have also had the opportunity to work with students in my school as a tutor. This has offered me a wide diversity as I have worked with students from several countries and from different backgrounds. Because I come from a bilingual country, I am fluent in French and English, and I am passionate about science and math. I strongly believe that hard work and determination can lead any student to achieve success. I enjoy playing soccer, table tennis, football, and I also love singing.
I'm a current senior at Harvard University earning a double major in Environmental Science and Public Policy and Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality. During my time at Harvard, I've done a wide variety of education-related work. I've taught my own self-designed course on Feminism, Intersectionality, and Queer Theory to high school students in both the US and Vietnam, and I currently design and lead customized inclusivity trainings with Harvard's Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
I am an undergraduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and I have tutored students since my early high school years. I've had experience instructing and guiding a variety of students, from young middle schoolers taking their first steps into the world of computer programming to my own peers struggling with their calculus exams. Over the past year alone, I've worked with over 30 students, spending several hours each day to help them stay up to speed on their schoolwork. I specialize in many areas of math as well as computer science, biology and physics. When tutoring students, I draw on my own experience with learning the material to identify and address the obstacles they face. I believe that promoting a deeper level of understanding of the subject, as opposed to merely teaching to the test or problem set, will enable students to excel in the long-term.

Frequently Asked Questions
Score improvement depends on your starting point and study commitment, but most students see meaningful gains with personalized instruction focused on their specific weak areas. Many students improve by 5-10 points or more by mastering test-specific strategies, particularly in the sections where they struggle most—whether that's logical reasoning, reading comprehension, or analytical reasoning (logic games). A tutor can identify exactly which question types and reasoning patterns are holding you back and create a targeted study plan.
Your first session focuses on assessment and strategy. A tutor will review your diagnostic test results, discuss your target law schools and score goals, and identify which sections need the most work. You'll also learn about the LSAT's unique format and question types, and get started on foundational strategies you can begin applying immediately to practice tests.
Absolutely. Logic games (analytical reasoning) intimidate many test-takers, but they're highly learnable with the right approach. A tutor can teach you systematic diagramming techniques, help you recognize game types quickly, and build speed through targeted practice. Most students who feel stuck on games make significant progress once they understand the underlying logic and have someone to guide them through the toughest game types.
LSAT reading comprehension requires a different skill set than typical reading—it's about understanding argument structure, identifying main ideas, and spotting author bias rather than memorizing details. Tutors teach active reading strategies specific to the LSAT, help you work through dense passages efficiently, and practice question types that commonly trip up test-takers. With targeted practice and feedback, you'll learn to navigate complex passages with confidence.
Most students benefit from 2-4 months of consistent preparation, though this varies based on your starting score and target score. A typical study schedule includes 15-20 hours per week of practice, including full-length practice tests, section drills, and review. A tutor can help you create a realistic timeline, track your progress with practice tests, and adjust your study plan if you're not hitting your target score on timed sections.
Practice tests are essential—they're the best way to understand the test's pacing, build stamina for a 3+ hour exam, and identify patterns in your mistakes. Taking full-length timed tests under realistic conditions helps you discover whether your struggles are conceptual (not understanding the logic) or strategic (running out of time). A tutor can review your practice test results with you, pinpoint which question types trip you up, and help you develop strategies to improve accuracy and speed.
Test anxiety often stems from feeling unprepared or uncertain about your approach to questions. Working with a tutor builds confidence by giving you clear, proven strategies and plenty of practice under timed conditions—so test day feels familiar rather than scary. Tutors also help you develop a pre-test routine and mental strategies to stay calm when you hit a difficult question, so you can move forward without getting stuck.
Look for tutors with strong LSAT scores (typically 170+), law school experience, and proven teaching ability with students who've improved their scores. The best LSAT tutors combine deep knowledge of test content with the ability to diagnose your specific challenges and teach you strategies that work for your learning style. Varsity Tutors connects you with expert tutors who understand the LSAT inside and out and can guide you toward your target score.
