About Me
My earliest mentoring experiences were during my time in Boy Scouts as I had the opportunity to teach younger scouts important skills as I earned the Eagle Scout Rank. After high school, I attended Saint Vincent College where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Certification in Biotechnology. In college, I was an Opportunity Program tutor for a high school student preparing for the AP Chemistry Exam. Regarding college students, I served as a note taker for the General Biology course, a tutor for the Cell Biology course, and a tutor for a Biochemistry course for graduate students. After college, I attended the University of Pittsburgh for graduate school and earned my PhD in Cellular and Molecular Pathology. During graduate school I was a mentor for a junior high school student in a summer program and helped her design and execute a research project examining a genetic knockout mouse model. I also served as a teaching assistant for first year graduate students in a Biomedical Sciences Intro course and first year medical students in a Histology course. Currently, I am a postdoctoral research fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School where I am continuing to perform biomedical research. When I am not in the lab, you can find me exploring historical sites and hiking outdoors.
