Varsity Tutors is committed to helping students like you prepare for the Graduate Record Examinations, or GRE, with your choice of Tucson GRE prep. Choose to collaborate with students getting ready to apply to graduate school at, for example, Arizona State University; in addition to a Tucson GRE prep course, you can also work one-on-one with an experienced tutor. No matter what type of preparation you choose, you can benefit by identifying your strengths and any learning opportunities and skills gaps ahead of the exam.
The GRE is a test that is administered worldwide. Students in over 160 countries may take the exam, which is accepted by thousands of colleges and universities. It covers a lot of subjects that many other standardized tests do, but at a higher academic level. To perform to your expectations on the GRE, you must focus on the key skills measured in its Analytical Writing, Verbal Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning sections. Varsity Tutors can help you reach for your goals by finding the right Tucson GRE preparation for you.
What Does Tucson GRE Prep Cover?
Students are allotted 3 hours, 45 minutes to complete the GRE. The test includes an Analytical Writing section, which is split into two tasks for a total of 60 minutes. The first task is to analyze an issue and the second to analyze an argument; you have 30 minutes per task to assess the requirements of the task and plan, write, and check over your response. Your ability to articulate complex ideas, provide valid examples and reasons, and apply evidence to examine claims will be assessed, as will your command of written English and ability to write a coherent and focused discussion.
The Verbal Reasoning section is broken down into two parts, of 20 questions each. This section is also 60 minutes long. It incorporates reading comprehension questions with passages that may be one or several paragraphs long. A passage might be accompanied by one to six questions. Test Completion questions require you to decide on the best answer for blank sections of passages (each may be accompanied by three to five options). Sentence Equivalence questions provide sentences with partial information, for which you must select from two of six choices for each blank segment.
Mathematical skills and concepts are the foci of the Quantitative Reasoning section. Here, you'll need to apply your problem-solving skills and logical reasoning to answer questions related to arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis. This section features three question types: Quantitative Comparison, Multiple-Choice, and Numeric Entry.
The GRE also includes an unscored Experimental section and Research Section. While the Experimental section is not identified (so you don't know which questions are part of it), the Research section at the end is identified and you have the option to complete it or not. The purpose of these sections is to try out new questions for possible inclusion on future tests.
How Can Tucson GRE Prep Help Me Reach for My Goals?
Varsity Tutors can set you up with two types of prep: a GRE course or a GRE tutor. You can pick one or the other or even both. A course enables you to collaborate with an instructor and your peers online, while tutoring lets you receive one-on-one help from a private instructor. In fact, your course instructor can set aside time to work with you individually if you don't understand something during a course session. Therefore, the options available are flexible and can be tailored to your needs.
Enabled by an intuitive live virtual platform, a Tucson GRE prep class gives you an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment. Group learning can be highly effective at helping you learn and reach for important skills. You might review problem-solving and various mathematical concepts or practice analyzing the text of a passage and the position the author takes. Accurately interpreting meaning based on context is important on the GRE, and our Tucson GRE class can help you work on being more precise in your answers. Classes start weekly and two- and four-week programs are available to accommodate your schedule.
If working one-on-one with a tutor helps you better understand a subject, Varsity Tutors can connect you with an academic mentor experienced in helping students prepare for the GRE. A private instructor can assess and address all your academic needs. They can spend as much time as you need to fill in any gaps. Also, they can go on to the next topic when you understand the preceding one. Your instructor can also go over the content, rules, and format of the exam so you have a better idea of what to expect. Practice questions can reveal your strengths and weaknesses, measure your progress, and help develop an approach towards taking the exam.
Best of all, a tutor can help you prepare for the GRE at your pace. Your mentor won't rush through any topics to keep up with the plan. The plan is organized around how you learn and how quickly you retain information and acquire skills. Tutoring is the perfect opportunity to develop your test-taking and study skills, which can help with learning efficiency and confidence. It is just as important to know your subjects as to know how to take the exam.
How Do I Find the Right Tucson GRE Prep for Me?
If you have reached this point, you've invested much time, energy, and cost into your education. You don't want to leave any stone unturned now. Moving forward, you want to make sure you get the best preparation and perform to the best of your abilities. Varsity Tutors has taken the hassle and guesswork out of the equation. You can depend on us to set you up with a Tucson GRE prep course or a Tucson GRE tutor. Just contact us today and an educational consultant will walk you through each option. They can help you choose a course or instructor and sign up so you can get started with your GRE preparation immediately.
