We studied hypothesis testing and confidence intervals for the difference in means, both paired and unpaired, and some of the concepts surrounding testing for means. The student is highly motivated and picked up on concepts easily, especially considering I gave him the full tutorial in an hour. Great job!

Tutoring review by Zachary in Glenpool, OK
The student is finished with new material, the rest of our sessions will be dedicated to review. Today, we touched on percentages, factor by grouping, word problems involving direct and inverse variation by a square, mixture problem and D=RT problem. We covered a lot of ground today and I think that is an indication that things are coming together and are getting easier.

Tutoring review by John in Glenpool, OK
Today we went over in more depth the chapter we previewed last time. This time we spent more time on logarithms and the different tactics used in the book to solve various exponential problems. I showed the student how to solve a problem where only the exponent is unknown, how to expand or contract logarithmic equations, and how to translate exponential graphs based on h and k. He did all the problems correctly, with only one exception (problems of the form logbX to the cy power equals a real number) so I will go over that one again next time. He gets this stuff so quickly he only has to make sure he takes his time when the type of problem varies as he is apt to blindly fall into a pattern of using the same tactic without looking closely. His book seems to be giving a little more time to logarithms than some of the other books I've seen, which will allow him to be more expert at it before he moves on to the next section.

We will need to meet again in order to finish the review topics.
