Lansdale Tutoring FAQ

Varsity Tutors will connect you with an expert tutor for students in Lansdale whether you need homework assistance, test prep help, or a general overview of a specific subject. It's not always a simple process to review challenging American literature texts or psychology case studies on your own. When you let us connect you with a private educator, you can receive valuable insights from a teacher who has experience with the subject you're studying. This can be extremely helpful whether you're attending a school like Delaware Valley University and want to better understand calculus assignments or your youngster wants guidance for an upcoming science test.

Studies show that students enjoy improved academic results when working with a private educator. One reason this might occur is the instructor's ability to offer their undivided attention and use individualized lesson plans. Instructors are prepared to provide continuous feedback on students' progress and answer questions as they arise. This means, your middle schooler can gain clarity when going over statistics for the first time in their math class. Likewise, you can enjoy a fantastic confidence boost as you study for the MCAT. Students in any K-12 grade as well as college students, hobbyists, and professionals can enjoy learning alongside an expert teacher in Pennsylvania. Whether you're struggling in class or simply want to expand your existing knowledge of a subject, private instruction can be highly beneficial.

The circumstances surrounding your tutoring needs can have an impact on the amount you pay to study with a tutor for students in Lansdale. Let's say your North Penn Senior High School attendee wants to take part in regular sessions over an entire term to learn what to expect on the ACT.

The student is taking Algebra II Honors which is a nice jump step up for him. We discussed the importance of a strong start this year. Last year, slow starts in a couple of classes made the whole term an uphill battle. He completed his homework assignment on properties of real numbers, simplifying expressions, and solving equations and inequalities. He did well and was more organized in his writing which reflects good energy and attitude.

Tutoring review by Sabrina in Lansdale, PA
The student took a practice test last week and wanted to improve her math results. We went over all the answers she got wrong in 1 of the math sections. The problem seems to be test-taking anxiety! She understands all the concepts, but under pressure, she blanks and can't apply her knowledge. We focused on reading the problems carefully and writing down all the numbers given before trying to calculate. By doing this, she was able to visualize what was going on and think about what she was solving for. Over all, I'm very pleased with her effort! For homework, she will do another timed practice section.

Tutoring review by Francesca in Lansdale, PA
We started the session by reading the November newsletter from school. We reviewed how to read dates, for example "11/3" is November 3rd. We then reviewed the months of the year and how to spell them using vowel sounds. Then, we practiced writing various dates throughout the year in the abbreviated version, such as 11/3. Next, I presented the student with a quiz on multiplication, which I had made for her. She completed the quiz in her head, struggled with 6x9, but ultimately scored 100% on the quiz! I then presented her with a multiplication table of numbers 3-7 and 1-12, which she completed beautifully. She struggled with multiplication by 7 after multiplying it by 6 and on but was able to correct her mistake when it was pointed out to her. She is very skilled at multiplication, and we will continue to strengthen her skills. We ended by playing the writing game that she enjoys and worked on nouns and adjectives.
