Tutoring review by Nathan in Wake County, NC
For our first session, both students and I talked a bit about how they felt about their current math and what subject they were working on in the future. Since the girls feel strongly about their current math skills, we went into the next topic of 3d figures. I covered the information of polyhedrons first, talking about bases and faces and how to name the object. We also spoke about counting the edges, faces, and vertices of a 3d figure. We then looked at a couple shapes and after a bit of practice, it seemed like the girls had a good idea of what the information meant. Next we talked about non-polyhedrons, which were much easier for the girls to recognize the properties and shapes of. We also spoke about area and volume, which I will need to cover a bit more on our next session depending on how strongly they feel on the topic. Finally, we talked about taking a cross-section of a 3d Figure. For all these topics, I realized I would need either 3d objects to help them out or better representations for better understanding. For next session, we will talk and do some examples of 3d figures and see how well they are doing and look at any current issues as well as cover 2d shapes once more.

Tutoring review by Bailey in Wake County, NC
The student and I worked through some problems on series and sequences. We especially focused on partial sums, infinite sums, arithmetic sums, and solving for n in a number of different ways and scenarios. Towards the end of the session, I also explained the algebra rules associated with adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions that include complicated or multiple variables.

Tutoring review by Sean in Wake County, NC
We went through the concept of parametric equations. The student quickly understood the rectangular<->parametric conversion, and we reviewed vector parametrization. I recommended that she look at the example in the book as well as to do additional problems to reinforce her understanding. She had a good handle on the projectile motion problems and the related graphing; as she practices these throughout her class homework assignments, she should have a strong enough grasp to do well on the test.

Tutoring review by Angel in Wake County, NC
This is the first session that I conducted with this student. We covered logarithms and different operations that you can do with them. We covered it from the very beginning. As a practice, we worked together on the homework sheet that he had assigned to him, and also did a lot of practice problems to reinforce the covered material. The student was very cooperative and told me what he would like to focus on so that it is the most beneficial for him.

The student and I spent the session on science. He had to read 2 articles and write a summary/ reflection on them. We only had time for 1 article, on the function and benefits of mucus. I also told him since he only has a month left of school I want him to request the final exam review packets so we can start preparing for final exams now.
