You may be a student at a local university, such as Georgetown University or Howard University, and have previously covered a good portion of this content during classes for your major. What Are Some of the Topics a Washington DC NCLEX Prep Course Can Cover?

The National Council Licensure Examination, or NCLEX, is an exam that prospective nurses must take before they can be certified to practice nursing in the state of their choosing. This exam is divided into two different types of categories: the NCLEX-RN, which applies to registered nurses, and the NCLEX-PN, which is meant for those who wish to become practical nurses.

The NCLEX is given using computer adaptive testing which means that it is conducted entirely on a computer. It should also be noted that once you submit an answer, you can't return to that question.

Every time you answer an item, the computer re-estimates your ability based on the previous answers you have given and the difficulty of those questions. You should find each item challenging as it has been individually targeted to your ability. With each item answered, the computer's estimate of your ability becomes more precise.

Because of this system, the number of questions on the exam, and how long it takes to complete, will vary from student to student. If you are taking the NCLEX-RN, the minimum number of questions you will have to answer is 75, while the maximum is 265. In terms of timing, the test will not exceed a maximum of six hours. If you are taking the NCLEX-PN, the minimum number of questions that you must answer is 85, while the maximum is 205, and the test will not exceed a total running time of five hours.

During the exam, you will encounter multiple-choice items, as well as items questions crafted in other types of formats. These formats may include, but are not limited to: multiple response, fill-in-the-blank calculation, ordered response, and/or hot spots. These questions may also include multimedia components, such as charts, tables, graphics, sound, and video.

Throughout your Washington DC NCLEX prep, some of the topics your instructor may cover include such items as "Safe and Effective Care Environment," "Health Promotion and Maintenance," "Psychosocial Integrity," and "Physiological Integrity."

What Are the Benefits of Taking a Washington DC NCLEX Prep Class?

In many instances, you may find yourself feeling overwhelmed if you try and prepare yourself to take the test without any kind of support or help. Signing up for an NCLEX prep class can help you to feel as if you are not alone as you move throughout the preparation process. Instead, you will be part of a class where every person has the same goal as you which many people find to be comforting, as well as a practical, from the standpoint of studying for the test.

For example, if you are having difficulty with understanding particular concepts, you can use the Live Learning Platform to reach out to other students in the class and ask them for help or further clarification on that topic. In addition, you can also request one-on-one time with the course instructor, who can also provide additional insight into areas where you may need extra help.

You also have the option of retaining the services of a Washington DC NCLEX tutor, if you feel that is more beneficial to your style of learning. A tutor can allow you to focus on the areas that you need additional assistance in while moving past the concepts you are already comfortable with. Both of these options are extremely flexible in terms of scheduling, and you only need a steady internet connection to attend.
