Private Online Economics Tutoring in Vancouver

When you reach out to Varsity Tutors, we can help make the process of finding a dependable Vancouver economics tutor easier. You can team up with a personal instructor to tackle concepts like behavioral economics, patterns of trade, and financial crises. Because every economics tutor in Vancouver goes through a detailed process of vetting and interviews, you can be sure you're learning alongside someone with knowledge of business strategy, economic growth and development, public finance, or anything else you're having trouble with.

Because economics tutoring in Vancouver is conducted on a one-on-one basis, your tutor can personalize your lesson plans based on your ability level and academic setting. If you're a beginning student studying at a school like the University of British Columbia, your tutor can help you lay the groundwork for future learning. If you're an advanced student, you can cover high-level concepts with a tutor who is proficient in even the most complex concepts. Whether you're focusing more on macroeconomics, microeconomics, or economic history, you can count on your instructor to adapt to your needs in helpful ways.

One of the key benefits of working alongside a British Columbia economics tutor is the fact that they can provide you with as much time you need to ask important questions on labor economics, economic theory, and market power. This same level of interactivity can be difficult to replicate in a classroom setting.

When you work with a Vancouver economics tutor, you can learn about topics like money and banking in different ways depending on your learning preferences. For aural learners, discussions can be an effective way to learn about the details of a decentralized market economy. For visual learners, flashcards can be more productive as you learn about monetary policy or the gains of trade. For hands-on learners, engaging exercises or projects can be helpful as you study interest rates or taxation.

Vancouver economics tutoring can allow you to set a pace for your learning that feels manageable, without feeling like you need to rush to keep up with others. Taking your time can lead to a more complete understanding of experimental economics or the application of formal theory. If an accelerated pace feels more appropriate for you, an economics tutor in Vancouver can speed up as you review game theory or monopolies.

Although reviewing various economics concepts is an important part of studying effectively, an economics tutor in Vancouver can help you accomplish more. You can learn new academic strategies that can help you become a more proficient student, such as time management methods or organizational tips.

When a British Columbia economics tutor learns about your strengths and weaknesses, they can help you work on areas you need to address first and foremost, like mergers and acquisitions. Your tutor can also provide you with more focused study sessions after learning about your personal academic goals, such as whether you wish to specialize in experimental economics. If this is the case, your tutor can focus more on experimental methodology and interpreting data.

When you engage in economics tutoring in Vancouver, you'll meet your tutor via the online environment of our Live Learning Platform. Real-time video chat allows you to interact with your tutor and receive clear, concise answers to your questions. A virtual whiteboard allows for a range of visual teaching techniques. If you need to refresh your memory of key concepts before a test, you can review Vancouver economics tutoring sessions that have been automatically saved and archived.

If you think you can benefit from the help of a Vancouver economics tutor, Varsity Tutors can help you connect to a suitable instructor within as little as 24 hours.

The student and I worked on his unit on firm-decisions under perfect competition. I started by reviewing all of his homework problems from the past 2 weeks and correcting errors. We then spent over an hour explaining the concepts that underlie the graphs and calculations.

Today we covered some information that will be on the student's midterm that he missed in class. We briefly went over production functions, interest rates, and the relationship between savings and investment. Today was mostly a conceptual overview, and we weren't able to work any problems. Our next session will be later this week.

The student and I were finally able to move on from NX and NCO curves. We got started on Aggregate Demand and Supply. Subjects I have a much better grasp on so things went very smoothly. He had questions but, I was able to answer them and I think he has a good idea about what Aggregate demand and supply are. We are meeting again today to finish up with supply and demand.

Economics Tutoring review by Derek in Vancouver
Topics: calculating and understanding the relationship between total cost, marginal cost, total revenue, marginal revenue, in a perfectly competitive market, maximizing profit condition, perfectly competitive markets in the long run, firms in the long run, economies of scale, diseconomies of scale (real-world applications), prices and being a price-taker in a perfectly-competitive market. Progress: These topics represented a step up in difficulty level for the student, but I think he caught on to everything pretty well. He took fewer notes than usual, but that was probably because the assignments did not lend themselves to note-taking. It was a very heavy dose of complex material, in one chunk. We will be meeting tomorrow to go over a practice test together, where I'll get a sense of whether it was a case of information overload, or if the ideas stuck.

We prepared for the client's mid-term by going over past "warm-ups" from her class as well as reviewing some of her chapters that would be covered in the mid-term in her text book. Some topics included monetary policy, financial industry (banks and investment mechanisms), and the supply and demand of loanable funds.
