In 2017, I completed my Bachelor's program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). My studies focused on learning a scientific approach to understanding Language and its applications in various fields. I designed a program concentrated on Western and Eastern language families, with a focus on English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese. As a part of this program, I studied Chinese and Chinese Culture at Minzu University of China in Beijing.
In college, I worked as a peer-to-peer tutor in English and Spanish at TRIO Academic Services, a government program that serves at-risk and underprivileged students. Although I tutor several subjects, English, Chinese, and Spanish are my favorite. My literature students have shown remarkable growth in their ability to analyze literature and write stronger essays with less stress. My Spanish and Chinese students appreciate my laidback, fun approach to helping them improve their conversational skills, pronunciation, and understanding of grammar in their target language. With the belief that a strong education translates to real life skills, I encourage all of my students to think beyond their classroom and our tutoring sessions to see the everyday applications of what they learn from the subject(s) we study together.
In my free time, I like to learn new words in the languages I speak, go hiking and explore the outdoors, study new things, and read about world affairs.

I enjoy studying languages, both my native one and foreign ones, reading literature that inspires me to think about something from a new perspective or think about something completely new to me, playing avante grade video games that incorporate language and literary devices in interesting ways that have a meaningful impact on players the way literature does, and studying history and foreign cultures.
