Free PALS Practice Tests
Varsity Tutors’ Learning Tools provides several PALS practice tests to help you brush up on Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) materials. These exercises provide questions on treating, resuscitating, and collaborating on medical treatment for children who are seriously ill or injured. Completing the course and passing the written exam earns you a PALS Provider Course Completion Card. It is good for two years. The PALS example questions, therefore, may come in handy on more than one occasion. They can supplement your continuing education and help you familiarize yourself with all of the topics and question formats prior to setting foot in the exam room.
A run-through of the test questions will immediately show how familiar you really are with what has been learned. Many of the questions revolve around cardiac issues and managing life-threatening conditions, such as shock. You may also be asked about symptoms and treatment options for a variety of conditions. Some examples include what to do to treat an embolism, anaphylaxis, or another urgent condition needing some form of aggressive treatment right away. Answering the questions correctly will not only mean passing the test, but perhaps someday saving a life.
Multiple-choice factual questions are provided as well. These PALS sample questions test your knowledge of drug side effects, triggers of specific pathologies, and how to perform a pediatric medical evaluation. The free PALS practice tests can be taken whenever it is most convenient for you. This lets you take the time to think through each problem completely. Each concept being tested can be integrated into your study protocol to maintain your focus on topics that are the most unfamiliar.
The free PALS study material covers a variety of clinical scenarios, so it doesn’t just test what you know, but also how to use it. It can supplement your hands-on classes.
