If you're preparing for the Uniform Certified Public Account (CPA) Examination, Varsity Tutors can enroll you in a comprehensive San Diego CPA Exam prep course to help you study. The CPA Exam is one of the "three Es" (the other two are Education and Experience) required to earn licensure as a CPA in the United States. It is designed to evaluate whether a test-taker has the skills and financial knowledge to competently practice public accountancy.
Unlike other standardized tests you may have taken in the past, the CPA Exam actually consists of four separate assessments: Auditing and Attestation, Business Environment and Concepts, Financial Accounting and Reporting, and Regulation. You may take these exams in any order, but you need to pass all four within an 18-month period in order to earn a CPA. If that seems too overwhelming to you, trust us to enroll you in a San Diego CAP Exam class to help you pursue your professional goals.
What topics are covered in a San Diego CPA Exam course?
Each assessment of the CPA Exam covers different topics, so the material you cover in your San Diego CPA Exam class depends on which one you're taking next. For instance, a student studying for Business Environment and Concepts may review corporate governance, while an individual preparing for Auditing and Attestation might review federal taxation laws. Your class instructor will be a knowledgeable expert in whatever you're reviewing, so you can trust that all of the information you receive is accurate and up-to-date.
You might also take practice tests to familiarize yourself with the formatting and content you can expect on exam day. Each test lasts four hours and contains anywhere from 66-76 multiple-choice items and nine task-based simulations. The one exception is the Business Environment and Concepts portion, which has 62 multiple-choice items, four task-based simulations, and three written assignments over a four-hour testing session. If you could more effectively express yourself in writing, your instructor can show you how to outline your thoughts beforehand to make that section a little more approachable.
What are some of the benefits of taking a San Diego CPA Exam course?
Each CPA Exam course consists of a group of students meeting with their instructor on our proprietary Live Learning Platform. Varsity Tutors thoroughly vets every class instructor, so you can count on studying with a knowledgeable teacher with great communication skills.
Our Live Learning Platform is an online classroom with cool features such as video chat functionality and a virtual whiteboard, giving you all of the benefits of attending a physical class without adding an extra trip to your itinerary. For example, a college student with downtime at a local institution such as the University of San Diego or San Diego State University could attend a class on their mobile device in the school library. Alternatively, you can study from the convenience of your own home to make it as easy as possible. Nobody enjoys sitting in traffic to get to a class, and we've taken the trip out of the equation.
Our platform also allows you to see and hear your classmates, allowing your instructor to assign group assignments to encourage new ways of thinking about the test. For instance, a classmate could help you understand the proper way to keep financial records, while you could help them with business law. Many students find that they learn better in a collaborative learning environment as opposed to studying on their own, so don't shy away from taking a formal class just because it means you need to share your instructor.
Studying in a class also gives you great value for your money, as you get to work with an expert instructor for a fraction of the typical cost. If you ever think that you need personalized help to overcome a learning obstacle, you may also arrange private help with your instructor on an as-needed basis.
Varsity Tutors also understands how busy you are, so we've made our courses as flexible as possible. We offer multiple sessions simultaneously, including two and four-week options to suit a variety of schedules. New sessions also start up every month, so you don't need to wait too long before getting started.

I find joy in helping students meet their educational needs and helping them succeed wherever their learning takes them. As Albert Einstein indicated, "Education is not the learning of facts but the training of the mind to think." To think about your thinking is the key to education and represents my goal as a tutor. You see, critical-thinking is the pathway to engaged learning.
