What Material is Covered by San Diego NCLEX Prep?
The NCLEX, or National Council Licensure Examination, refers to two different licensure exams that are administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN). One test is for registered nurse candidates, and the other is for practical nurses. Both exams are administered through Computerized Adaptive Testing, or CAT. Every time you answer a question, the computer estimates your ability based on how you answered the previous questions and on their difficulty. It then selects a question that you should have a 50 percent chance of answering correctly. The idea is to not make the exam too difficult or too easy and to gather as much information as possible about your true ability level. Registered nurse candidates can expect to answer between 75 and 265 questions while practical nurse candidates can expect to answer between 85 and 205 questions. You will have six hours to complete the NCLEX-RN as a registered nurse candidate, and five hours to complete the NCLEX-PN as a practical nurse candidate.
The NCLEX is divided into four different sections, each of which deals with a different facet of a client's needs. These four sections are Safe and Effective Care Environment, Health Promotion and Maintenance, Psychosocial Integrity, and Physiological Integrity. You will also need to understand concepts such as the Basic Nursing Process, Communication, Documentation, Teaching and Learning, and Culture and Spirituality. A San Diego NCLEX preparation course or private instruction can help you better understand these concepts and prepare you for taking the exam itself.
What are the Benefits of Each Type of San Diego NCLEX Prep?

If you need some extra help, you can also ask for a one-on-one meeting with the instructor. Since these courses are entirely online, you won't have to worry about commuting to a physical classroom. As long as you are somewhere with a stable Internet connection, you will be able to participate in the course. New prep course sections open up regularly, and you should be able to find a course that fits comfortably into your schedule.
