About Me

I conduct research on marginalized youth and young adults to understand how to support positive development, learning, and future life goals. I use quantitative and qualitative methods and analysis techniques to answer a range of research questions as I prepare for my dissertation research project and have extensive content expertise in psychology and development across the lifespan. I primarily tutor students in test prep (SAT, ACT, and GRE), math across grades and subjects, psychology, statistics, and German. My prior students have achieved significant improvements in test scores, with some scoring over 200 points higher after tutoring sessions, and I have experience working with students of all ages. As a German tutor, I have near-native proficiency after three trips to Germany, including when I lived in Germany for 7 months as a teacher's assistant and while studying abroad in college. I will work with you to hone your speaking and readings skills, help develop study strategies to pass tests, and connect your learning to cultural lessons based on extensive personal experiences. Through my tutoring sessions, I will help students achieve their goals and tailor lessons to their personal experiences and skills to scaffold learning. I am excited to work with you and starting our tutoring sessions!

Hobbies & Interests

I enjoy daily walks and hiking whenever my schedule allows, regardless of the weather! I particularly like listening to audiobooks while walking and traveling so that I can always learn something new and engage my mind. I love reading fantasy and science fiction, though recently I am getting into historical fiction and memoirs as well. As a doctoral student in psychology, I read academic articles and books often for my research and coursework, so these genres allow me to be creative and imagine different realities.
