Common Core: 7th Grade Math Flashcards
By seventh grade, many children have moved into mathematics classes that cover somewhat advanced topics, from pre-algebra to geometry. In the past, these topics may not have been covered in middle school or junior high, but with the implementation of the Common Core standards, what a seventh grader is expected to know by the end of the year has changed.
As a parent, it’s not unusual to want your child to have any study aids that they may need available. Varsity Tutors’ Learning Tools include a set of thousands of online flashcards that focus on the concepts outlined in the Common Core 7th Grade Math curriculum.
With your child, you can access these free flashcards online at any time, as long as you have an active Internet connection. You don’t have to devote hours and hours to a math review session; you can sit your child down for review of a few of these flashcards for just a few minutes, between other activities, or you can settle in for a more in-depth review session.
The flashcards include topics that range from expressions and equations, to statistics and probability, which are topics that your child will likely see in math classes, during his or her seventh grade year. Whether your child wants to focus on specific topics or jump from random topic to random topic, these Common Core 7th Grade Math flashcards allow just that. The flashcards are a Learning Tool that your child can use to supplement their in-class lectures and learning, and to review topics throughout the year.
When they sit down to work with these Common Core 7th Grade Math study flashcards, depending on the subtopic that the flashcard deals with, your 7th grader will see a single equation or a math word problem to solve. The problem is presented with multiple potential answers, usually between three and five options. Your son or daughter can choose from those potential answers, and regardless of whether they choose the correct answer or the wrong one, they will see an explanation of the concepts behind the question. With each answer, these flashcards break down the information in a step-by-step way that explains just how a student can get from a question to the exact answer.
If you’re pleased with the progress your child makes, and want to find additional Learning Tools to use throughout the year, there are a few more options available through Varsity Tutors’ Learning Tools.
First, there are Full-Length Practice Tests that explain where your child has issues that you could work on further, and there are smaller, topic-focused Practice Tests that you can use to hone in on those areas of difficulty. If you’re still looking for other options, consider an interactive syllabus that moves through each of the topics outlined in the Common Core 7th Grade Math requirements, called Learn by Concept, or a Question of the Day series that offers a single random question within that same subject matter. You can use the Question of the Day series to judge just how well your child understands the overall subject matter.
