Whether you are just beginning the process of preparing for the LSAT or you've hit some obstacles somewhere in the middle, Varsity Tutors can help prospective law students sign up for a Denver LSAT class.
The LSAT, or Law School Admission Test, is accepted by every ABA-accredited law school and is used as a part of their admissions process. As such, you can likely improve your chances of getting into your preferred law school, such as the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver, by performing well on the LSAT.
The LSAT is administered on digital tablets that are provided at the testing center. In order to answer a question, you have to tap the answer option you want to choose on the screen. One of the benefits of using the tablet is that it provides a timer that warns you when you have five minutes left in a particular section. It also allows you to highlight or flag questions you may want to revisit if you have extra time.
The LSAT is graded on a scale between 120 and 180 points, with 120 being the lowest score you can get and 180 being the highest score. Your score is based on the number of questions you answer correctly. You do not lose points for answering a question incorrectly, so there's no harm in guessing if you do not know the answer to a particular question. Additionally, every question on the exam is weighted the same, so your score is based on the number of questions you answer correctly rather than the specific questions you answer correctly.
What can a Denver LSAT class help me review?
There are a variety of different areas in which a Denver LSAT class can help you review. The LSAT consists of four sections, including Reading Comprehension, Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Writing. Each of these sections is designed to test for particular skills that are considered an indicator of future success in law school.
The Reading Comprehension section allows 35 minutes to finish it. This section looks at your ability to read and comprehend long, complex passages similar to what you will encounter in law school. The questions involved in this section examine your ability to identify the primary purpose of the passage, your ability to comprehend information that is explicitly stated, and your ability to understand information that is simply inferred. It also contains questions that test your ability to apply information to new contexts, your ability to understand analogies, and your ability to identify the author's attitudes based on their tone.
The Analytical Reasoning section also allows 35 minutes to finish the section. This section looks at your ability to understand how relationships are structured and your ability to reach a conclusion based on the structure you've identified. You will be tested on your ability to reason with conditional statements, your ability to infer what is true based on the facts provided, and your ability to infer what is true based on facts and information that is provided in a hypothetical situation.
The Logical Reasoning section contains two sections, and you will have 70 minutes to finish this section. This section looks at how well you can analyze and evaluate arguments. The information provided for this section can come from a variety of sources, including informal discourse, advertisements, magazines, and newspapers.
Finally, the Writing section allows you 35 minutes to complete it. The Writing section is not scored, but it will be sent to any law school that you apply to. The Writing section is completed separately from the other sections and you will have up to one year from the day you complete the multiple choice section of the exam to submit it. The Writing section provides you with a prompt that offers you a choice between two positions or courses of action. You must choose one of the positions or courses of action and defend your choice with reason and logic. Neither position or course of action is considered right or wrong, but you will have to provide quality arguments for why you made that particular choice. This section is designed to showcase your ability to argue a point by utilizing your writing skills.
How can a Denver LSAT course help me prepare?
There is a wide range of ways in which a Denver LSAT course can help you prepare. When you sign up for a Denver LSAT course through Varsity Tutors, you can choose between either a two or four week session. New courses start every week and each session takes place in a live, online setting. As such, it is easy for you to find a course that fits into your schedule because you can take it anywhere you have a stable Internet connection.
These online LSAT courses are designed to resemble a classroom experience. You will be working with an instructor and other students in a virtual classroom. This setup allows you to have an instructor who can guide you through the material that may show up on the exam. Working with other students can help in terms of facilitating discussion and creating a collaborative environment. When it comes to learning new ways of reasoning, it can be helpful to work with fellow students because it offers you a chance to hear new perspectives.
Working with an instructor can also be useful because it offers you a chance at working with them on an individual level as needed. If you have trouble comprehending a particular topic, you can talk to your instructor on your own to get further clarification.
In addition to reviewing material that might show up on the exam, it can also be helpful to work on developing skills like time management. This can help ensure that you have a better chance to answer all of the questions on exam day.

I tutor the LSAT because I know it's a hard test and I know what it's like to struggle with it. However I also understand the process necessary to produce better scores, and nothing is more satisfying to me than helping someone achieve what seemed impossible a few months ago.... Your score is a product of so many factors--your understanding of the material, your speed, even how accurately you bubble answers--but in the end it all comes down to whether you studied the test from every angle and put in the time necessary to get the results you want.
