What can I review during Miami GMAT prep?

The GMAT consists of four distinct sections that make different demands on the test-taker. On the day of the exam, you are able to decide in what order you encounter the sections. This lets you have a bit more control over your test-taking experience. The sections of the test are Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning, and the Analytical Writing Assessment. Before we cover your preparation options, let's do a brief overview of the exam itself.

The Verbal Reasoning section of the GMAT requires you to understand logical relationships, solve problems from written data, and utilize your knowledge of English structure and usage. You will be answering questions that are centered on verbal information and you must use that information to apply the data properly. There are 36 questions in this section, and you have 65 minutes to complete them. This section, as well as the Quantitative Reasoning section, is scored from 0 to 60, although scores outside the 6 to 51 range are rare.

During the Quantitative Reasoning section, you will encounter problems that are based around objective, often numerical, data. You need to understand how to reason logically and utilize mathematical knowledge to answer these questions. In some cases, your goal is to answer the question using the data that is given to you. For other questions, you must determine whether there is enough data to answer the question properly. This section has 31 multiple-choice questions, and you have 62 minutes to finish the section.

The Integrated Reasoning section consists of 12 questions that take 30 minutes to complete. These questions require you to answer questions that are based around a variety of data sources. Some questions are based on table analysis or graphic interpretation. For these questions, you will have one data source that you need to use to solve the problem. Other questions are multi-source reasoning questions which require you to combine data from text, numbers, graphs, or tables to reach an answer. Synthesizing these forms of information can help you to come to conclusions on complex problems.

During the Analytical Writing Assessment, you will read an argument that is provided and respond to that argument. This requires to understand the original argument and make judgments about what is effective and what is not. Your own response must feature evidence from the provided argument and must be structured effectively. You will be graded based on the quality of your argument and the evidence that demonstrates that you clearly understand the original argument. This section is scored from 0 to 6 and takes half an hour to complete.

How can Miami GMAT prep help me to get ready for the exam?

There are two main options for your GMAT preparation. You can attend a Miami GMAT prep course if you would like to learn alongside other students. If you would rather learn in a more personalized environment, you can work with a Miami GMAT tutor. Each of these options can help you study effectively depending on how you prefer to learn.

During a Miami GMAT prep class, you will learn in a live virtual classroom. You and your classmates can interact in real time with each other and the instructor. Your instructor will be a well-qualified individual who knows the material on the exam well and can teach effectively. During your sessions, you can listen to lectures, converse about key ideas as a class, and ask questions of the instructor. These questions can help the instructor know what material is difficult for the class. For example, if several people have questions about the same part of the exam, the instructor can devote extra time to the content of that portion to make sure that everyone understands the material. You can also schedule a time to meet with your instructor outside of class if you need extra help. There are new sessions of Miami GMAT prep classes that start every week so you can begin your preparation any time. You can choose between two- and four-week options at times that work for you.

A Miami GMAT tutor can help you to devise a personalized study plan for your sessions. Because you are the only student, your plan can accommodate your goals, abilities, learning style, and more. You can focus on the areas of the exam that are most pertinent to your goals, and you can even devote time to preparing test-taking strategies that can help you maximize your time on the exam. This sort of personalized focus can help you to prepare as effectively as possible.
