In addition to offering effective resources and instruction, these services are easy to attend and schedule. Because the SAT is a key part of the many college applications, the way you prepare can affect your academic future.
The SAT is a college admission exam that is most commonly taken by students in 11th or 12th grade. If you attend a local institution such as Xavier College Preparatory Roman Catholic High School or Sunnyslope High School, you may be getting ready to take the SAT right now. Whether the exam is getting close or you are planning to take it further out in the future, it never hurts to improve your study time.
What can I study during Phoenix SAT prep?
During the SAT, you will have three hours to complete the mandatory sections of the exam. These sections are Math, Reading, and Writing and Language. If you opt to take the Essay section of the exam, you will have an additional 50 minutes to complete that section. The mandatory sections are scored from 200 to 800 with the sections on Writing and Language and the section on Reading combining their score. This combined score is added to the score for the Math section to form a 400 to 1600 composite score for the exam. The essay section is scored from 6 to 24 and is not factored into the composite score. Let's take a moment to do an overview of the sections of the exam.
In the Math section of the exam, you will demonstrate your problem-solving and analytical skills. By interacting with data and effectively using algebra to solve problems, you can display your mathematical skills. There are parts of the Math section where calculators are allowed, but there are also parts that forbid the use of a calculator. There are 58 questions in this section, and you will have 80 minutes to complete them.
The Reading section is comprised of 52 questions. You will have 65 minutes to complete this portion of the SAT. This portion will present you with several passages that you must read, interpret, and analyze. You must display your comprehension of the passages, your understanding of words and context, and your ability to process the information you read.
During the Writing and Language section, you will encounter passages, graphs, and tables that present evidence. You will display your ability to form an effective argument, make improvements to an existing passage, and use written English to perform specific goals. Your passages will touch on a number of historical and social topics. You do not need a prior understanding of these topics, but you will need to effectively analyze and comprehend the passages. There are 44 questions in this section of the exam, and you will have 35 minutes to complete it.
During the optional Essay section of the exam, you will encounter a passage that the exam provides. After you read the passage, you must analyze the argument and write a response to it. Your response will detail how effective you believe the author's argument to be. You need to back up your argument with evidence from the original piece. In addition to considering the author's use of evidence, reasoning, and style, you must utilize those same components in your essay. You are not stating whether you agree or disagree with the author. Rather, you are evaluating the strength of their argument. You will have 50 minutes to complete this section.
How can Phoenix SAT prep help me get ready for the day of the exam?
You can choose two main options for your SAT preparation. If you prefer to learn in a group environment, a Phoenix SAT prep course can provide a classroom environment for your study. If you prefer the options of private tutoring, you can work with a Phoenix SAT tutor. Depending on your needs and situation, either option can help you move your preparation forward. These offerings both take place online which makes the logistics of participating in these sessions easier.
During your time in a Phoenix SAT prep class, you will meet with your instructor and classmates in a live virtual classroom. This set-up allows for real-time interactions that can help you learn from a variety of perspectives. In addition to hearing lectures from your skilled instructor, you and your classmates can discuss key topics and ask questions. Your instructor can modify sessions to accommodate the needs of the group, and you can schedule meetings outside of class with your instructor if you need to do so. These sessions can give you a comprehensive review of the material on the SAT and can allow for discussion and attention that help you to study well.
There are new sessions of these classes that start weekly. You are able to decide whether you want to study for two or four weeks, and there are several times available. You can study over the weekend, after school, or other times that fit your schedule.
A Phoenix SAT tutor can help you develop a study plan based on your goals, abilities, and learning style. You can focus on the material that is important to you, and you can learn in ways that are effective for you. This sort of individualized learning can help you to absorb and retain information effectively. From test content to test-taking strategies, you and your mentor can give you tools to pursue your goals on the SAT.

...matter to tutor is SAT prep (especially math). The best part about the SAT is there are no surprises. Although the questions are "different", they never really "change". What this means is that even a child who regularly struggles at math, reading, or writing can memorize the framework and question types and conquer the SAT. There is a lot of satisfaction knowing that every second of tutoring SAT preparation will guarantee higher scores for the...

Everyone is different and to be a successful tutor, you cannot apply the same teaching methods to every student. My favorite word is "why." And why is that, you may ask? Well, I am subject to a never-ending flow of knowledge because I perpetually wonder why. The search for answers to any question beginning with "why" has taught me everything I know -- and put me in a position to disseminate my knowledge to other people. Tutoring is the best possible way for me to do that.
