Question of the Day: SAT II Physics
If the block of mass slides up a frictionless incline plane and is pulled by mass which is falling then what is the acceleration of the block on the ramp if and and the angle of incline is 30 degrees?
The SAT Physics Subject Test assesses your child’s knowledge of introductory physics concepts prior to college. Formerly known as the SAT II Physics Test, the exam tests your child’s problem-solving and reasoning skills. During this 60-minute, 75 multiple-choice question test, your child will be asked to demonstrate their knowledge of fundamental concepts and solve single-concept and multiple-concept problems. For each problem, your child will have to apply specific physics principles. Other skills that will be used include those in algebra, trigonometry, and skills necessary in understanding ratio, proportions, and graphical relationships. They’ll also need to understand the metric system and apply the laboratory skills they’ve learned in school. Since the test covers such a broad scope of concepts, preparing can seem like a challenge in itself. However, the daily SAT Physics test practice provided by the Question of the Day from Varsity Tutors’ Learning Tools helps to streamline the study process.
In this daily test practice, students are exposed to the topics they will be tested on in a format similar to the real SAT Physics Subject Test. The questions are selected at random from one of the dozens of Practice Tests also available on the Learning Tools site, so each day, your child will spend a little time on a different concept. The SAT Physics Subject Test review provided by the Question of the Day is an opportunity to fine-tune their study plan. Your child can focus their time on the concepts they most need to improve upon. Starting this review process well in advance of the test is smart, because this will allow your child time to build knowledge and confidence.
Physics questions can be challenging because they can integrate a number of scientific concepts along with mathematics skills. Your child’s math skills need to be sharp in order to proceed with a physics-based curriculum. The Question of the Day takes it one step at a time. A few minutes out of a busy day can help to improve your child’s knowledge and skill level. After your child answers the SAT Physics sample question, their scoring percentile, average time, difficulty, and the percentage of people who answered the question correctly are just a few things included. More importantly, the free SAT Physics Subject Test practice reveals the right answer and a detailed explanation. It will run through equations and the dynamics of a problem. Links to relevant concepts are also provided so your child can read a more in-depth explanation and incorporate that information into their studying. The Question of the Day is a great hands-on tool for studying a little bit each day.
Since students might not have covered every concept in school that will be tested on the exam, the daily SAT Physics test practice from the Question of the Day can help to fill in the gaps. Come test day, your child has a better chance of feeling prepared and confident, which is a big bonus when it comes to such a specialized exam.
