Study Skills and Organization Tutoring review by Omar in Silicon Valley, CA
Today, the student and I dug into my tutoring method. We made flashcards in preparation for his upcoming biology exam. We also went over how to envision long-term goals and build bridges to these goals by accomplishing smaller, more manageable goals. We went over several key themes and concepts in Fahrenheit 451. We also went over key literary terms. Lastly, we went over polynomial function. He is already showing significant improvement and academic determination. I expect that he will only continue growing as a student.

The student wanted to focus on finishing all of his Spanish homework, so he worked on that first. Afterwards, we looked at the released assessment exam tests and began reviewing the Biology test so that he can really be prepared for those additional tests approximately 6 weeks from now.

Study Skills and Organization Tutoring review by Emilie in Silicon Valley, CA
We continued with make-up work, including science labs and economics vocabulary. The student needs to completely finish (up to date) his physical science class this weekend. That's three days to do about 16 small assignments. He can definitely do it. Some are tests and vocabulary quizzes, which he is really good at and usually does very well. A few of those are labs, which are more tedious but still doable. In the future, especially if taking other online classes, it might help him to get a text-to-talk feature on his computer, like some doctors have. It should save him time, and I think make the assignments not seem as tedious for him.

Study Skills and Organization Tutoring review by Liban in Silicon Valley, CA
We focused on preparing the student for an upcoming test in social studies. I had him first use the study guide he created in a previous session and then had him review for a bit. I also had him try out a couple of activities to test his knowledge of the material. We first did vocab matching, which he had no problem with. We then did some open response questions. He was able to answer the basic question asked, but he could have used more detail, so we discussed each question meticulously. We ended the session by going over key figures and made sure he was able to identify and describe them.

Study Skills and Organization Tutoring review by Kameco in Silicon Valley, CA
We looked at the student's planner and discussed all of the assignments that were due and created a plan for the best use of his time. We went through all of his material and made sure that he had everything required to complete his assigned work before it was all due the next day. He began to complete some of the assignments and he was able to fully complete one out of the four that were assigned. He filled in missing dates that were to be reported in his personal daily planner. He was also given the directive to write a date on every assignment or note page that he was given whether they are due to be turned in or not.
