How can a Minneapolis MCAT class help me study?
Your MCAT class is constructed to help you receive an in-depth understanding of the MCAT and its contents. This standardized, computer-based, multiple-choice exam includes four sections. Students are scored on a scale of 118 to 132 on each section, and also receive an overall score that ranges from 472 to 528. Before you take your MCAT, you should know that your exam may contain experimental questions that will not count towards your final score.
The first section of the MCAT is the Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems section. This portion of the exam asks 59 questions, including 10 passage based sets of questions with four to six questions per set. There are also 15 independent questions in this section. The Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems section asks questions related to the human body's systems, and tests an individual's knowledge related to basic biochemistry, introductory biology, introductory physics, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and general chemistry.
Up next is the Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills portion of the MCAT. Here, students are asked 53 questions, with nine passage based sets of questions containing five to seven questions per passage. The Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems section of the MCAT features 59 questions, including 15 independent questions and 10 passage based sets of questions with four to six questions per set. Individuals should know how cells and organ systems within an organism act independently and work together to accomplish processes like growing and reproducing.

Here, students are asked 59 questions, including 15 independent questions and 10 passage based sets of questions with four to six questions per set. This section focuses on skills related to serving an increasingly diverse population. You will be tested on biology, introductory psychology, and introductory sociology when working through this portion of the exam.
