Tutoring review by Victoria in Manasquan, NJ
During this session, we talked about different types of angles, such as adjacent and vertical angles. We also did a lot of practice with finding measures of angles using supplementary and complementary angles. I felt we made progress throughout the session. We also solved equations using the sum of the angles of triangles and also how to find the circumference of a circle. She picked this up well.

The student and I discussed related rates and 1st and 2nd derivative test homework assignments. She worked very hard on these, and I believe that she was starting to understand the foundation by the end, but needs to focus on remembering how to set up the problems. I know that she will get the material and will be taking a practice test this week.

We went over the chain rule today. The student does understand the chain rule, though he does need a bit more practice with it before he has fully mastered using it. I suspect this will come about naturally as his course moves on over the next week's material. We also spent some time reviewing his AP Statistics work, especially focusing on the correlation coefficient, r.

Tutoring review by Raven in Manasquan, NJ
Today, the student and I focused on solving fraction word problems. She is getting better at solving these word problems, and we will continue to work on solving multi-step word problems that involve up to four operations. After working on math, we focused on vocabulary practice with multiple meaning words. She seems to grasp this concept very well. After the vocabulary practice, we read a story that was at a level U. After reading, we answered the 10 comprehension questions.

Tutoring review by Bonnie in Manasquan, NJ
Today, we started by going over the student's homework. She was simplifying fractions. Then, I had her do a little bit of writing. She is very creative! I circled misspelled words, and she took a second look. She fixed most of them. Everything else in terms of the writing was well done. In the last session, it seemed like 4th grade reading passages were too easy, so I had prepared some 5th grade material for this time. I think that provided a more appropriate challenge for her, so I'll continue with that level. She has no problem reading aloud, and she knew most of the words in the passage. She is very funny and easy to work with.
