Tutoring review by Brandon in Westbury, NY
The student and I reviewed LCF, to prepare her for subtracting mixed numbers and reordering them. I showed her two different ways to solve them. One way was to make the fraction improper and the other was the takeaway method.

The student and I covered adding and subtracting fractions today. We did all of the problems from his workbook and I made up extras. He said he made a 100% on his test review and felt great about his test he took last Friday.

Tutoring review by Okechukwu in Westbury, NY
I helped the student review her homework from that Tuesday, and the day before. I created problems based on the types of problems that she was working on. She worked on the following: 1) Multiply a 2-digit number by another 2-digit number. 2) List factors for a composite number. 3) Create a pattern of a list of numbers from multiplying the first number by the same number- 4 times. 4) Round 6 digit numbers to the nearest tenth place. 5) Given a rectangular figure with a perimeter and the width of one side, find the length of a side. 6) Add two 6 digit numbers. 7) Division problems involving the dividing of money between friends.

Tutoring review by Adwoa in Westbury, NY
The student and I covered more multi-step math problems, including double and triple digit addition with regrouping, multiplying single and double digit numbers, as well as dividing double digits but single digits with a remainder. She did a great job! I really enjoy her enthusiasm and her desire to be challenged. She enjoyed the extra practice math problems that I left for her last week, and I will be adding more complex problems to our math plan for next week.

Tutoring review by Nathan in Westbury, NY
The student and I worked on infinite sequences and series. We focused on convergence/divergence and some tactics for simplifying/rearranging functions. He had a slight lack of familiarity with the concepts, so it was difficult for him to reason through most of the problems. It wasn't long before they were making much more sense to him. His attitude was attentive and agreeable. The main strategy I suggested was plugging in the first few numbers of a sequence/series to get a sense of where it would go. It was only our first meeting, but I think he'll catch up quite well.

Tutoring review by Amanda in Westbury, NY
The student brought his review work for his geometry test tomorrow. We practiced using given equations to find the lengths of arcs, chords, secants, and tangents, as well as the area of sectors and segments. He did very well making sure he was using correct equations, not making assumptions about "facts" he did not know, and following through all steps of solving. He feels confident for his test tomorrow. He also brought the quiz results from the other day and he earned 18/20, which I was very proud to hear!
