We continued to work on the student's outline for his upcoming sales presentation. We also worked on his note taking skills by taking notes for his upcoming exam. We focused on keywords as well as the outline from his professor. I instructed him to finish his presentation and continue to study for the law exam. He also planned to review for his sales course.

Met the student for our first session, and we covered studying tips/advice, her three top goals in her studies, how to prepare for tests, how to build confidence, emphasizing potential, how to use mnemonics, how studying and learning is fun, ideal environments for studying, common polygons, and math, geography, and spelling quizzes.

The student shared that he scored a B on his trig test from a few weeks ago. He and I spent most of the session working on his upcoming essay assignment for Into the Wild. We brainstormed ideas for the "lost chapter" and did a quick draft of the introductory paragraph. During the last ten minutes, I showed him how to quickly outline and write a "pro and con" essay for his 35 minute ACT essays. I also left him with a practice pro and con essay to work on: "Should student athletes be required to get good grades in order to play high school sports?"

Went over the planner, binders, and previous homework assignments to get a better insight of what the teachers are grading on and where he is at. We did some reading analysis and critical thinking of a short story/poem. We went over an assignment he has due soon, broke down what he needed to do and when he needed to do them in order to finish in time. Consistent planner usage and due dates are still something we need to work on. But so far, he is doing well.

I met the student at his class. We met with his professor to discuss a missed assignment and come up with a plan to catch him up. Today's class was about the midterm and a new theory so I took notes on those items. We then scheduled a time to work on the late assignment.

The student and I focused on his English test on "Tom Sawyer" which he has coming up on Friday. He knows the book well; there were just a few details here and there that he wasn't sure about. The goal is for him to practice writing everything down before he gets to class and before the end of the test. He did do some writing, though, and that was good.
