Afterward, we reviewed some chemical nomenclature rules, and I suggested that he make flash cards to memorize the polyatomic ions and their oxidation numbers.

Today the student learned about the Pythagorean theorem and various ways of manipulating it. We learned how to identify right triangles by only looking at the side lengths. Using the theorem, we were also able to determine if a triangle was obtuse or acute. The student also practiced using the theorem to solve word problems. Last, we had some more basic algebra review.
