If you are having a hard time finding a Japanese class that you can attend, the Tucson Japanese course with Varsity Tutors can be exactly what you are looking for. It is offered entirely online and there is a wide range of course times to choose from. You can even take classes in the evening - perfect for working professionals or students who have their classes during the day.
There is little known about the prehistory of Japanese, unlike other major languages in the world. There is also no other country that uses Japanese as their first or second language - it's just primarily spoken in Japan. Even so, if you ask students from Tucson Magnet High School and Sunnyside High School who are studying Japanese, they'll likely have a variety of motivators. Some will be studying the language to benefit their future education and careers. Others may be learning it because of their interest in Japanese culture found in manga, anime, or Japanese TV shows. For adult learners, like college students from the University of Arizona, Japanese is a very attractive foreign language because of their dream to travel, work, or live in Japan. Whichever group of learners you belong to, you can quickly start learning Japanese when you enroll in a Tucson Japanese class with Varsity Tutors.
What material will a Tucson Japanese course cover?
Japanese word order is one of the topics you will learn in your class. This is primarily taught at the beginner level together with some basic sentences. In Japanese, the word order follows the subject-object-verb pattern, which is different from English where the order is subject-verb-object. This difference in word order can be very challenging for new learners, but when you progress with your studies, you will adapt to the new sentence structure. For example:
English: You study Japanese.Japanese: You Japanese study.
If you are a beginner, you also need to learn hiragana, katakana, and some simple kanji, which are Chinese characters. These three are what make up the Japanese writing system. You will practice writing the characters and how to read and pronounce them. Kanji in Japanese has a Japanese reading (kun-yomi) and a Chinese reading (on-yomi); however, there are also kanji combinations that totally deviate from their assigned readings, so you will just have to memorize them along the way.
Intermediate level topics will cover more advanced grammar, verb conjugation, and the dictionary form of verbs, which is the form found in Japanese dictionaries and used in casual conversation among friends and family.
Advanced level topics in the Tucson Japanese class can cover more kanji characters, grammar points, and compound sentences. You will also discuss "keigo" or honorific language in Japanese, which is a way of speaking and forming Japanese sentences in more formal situations and with people of higher status than the speaker.
How will a Tucson Japanese course help me learn?
You can complete the Japanese course entirely online. That means there's no need to set aside extra hours for commuting from your home, school, or office just to attend the course. Learning becomes super convenient because all you have to do is log-on from your computer and start learning. Since it's online, you are the one who's going to decide where you want to set up your study area - it can be your kitchen, bedroom, or even a café.
You will also have many opportunities to practice what you've learned in class immediately because the online lessons are live. You will see, hear, and interact with your instructor and classmates as if you were in a regular classroom. You will practice speaking, writing, reading, and listening, and your expert instructor will be there throughout the lesson to guide you and correct your mistakes. This instant feedback is something very important for a student since it gives him the opportunity to improve his language skills faster compared to just studying on his own.
Of course, there may be times that you want more help with challenging topics. For those instances, a Tucson Japanese class allows you to request one-on-one lessons from your Japanese instructor. This private lesson support gives you more avenues to quickly improve your language skills.
How can I get signed up for a course?
