As a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor's in Materials Science and Engineering, I have over 5 years of tutoring experience across various subjects, including Algebra, Geometry, Biology and Chemistry. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel confident to explore and ask questions. I believe in tailoring my approach to meet each student's unique needs, encouraging them to connect concepts with real-world applications. My passion for teaching stems from witnessing students gain clarity and confidence in their abilities, which motivates me to continually refine my methods. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy exploring new technologies and engaging with nature, which often inspires my lessons.

Hello! My name is Gabe, and I am a master's student at Johns Hopkins University studying Environmental Epidemiology and Biostatistics. I graduated from NYU in 2024 and studied environmental sciences and public health. I learned to have a passion for statistics since I found myself using it in so many of my courses. Statistics isn't for everyone, but I hope to help students expand their knowledge or gain confidence in using it for a class. While at NYU, I worked as a data analyst for a clinical trial and as a biostatistics intern. I am skilled in R studio for statistical and epidemiological analysis. My goal is to help students perform their best by becoming comfortable with the concepts.
For many students, especially those with learning disabilities, ADHD, or differences in how they process information, this path can feel intimidating or out of reach. My mission as a tutor and mentor is to make the journey into medicine structured, attainable, and empowering by providing individualized academic support from high school through the premedical years, with a specific focus on MCAT preparation and long term success. I specialize in MCAT focused tutoring and premedical academic mentorship, working with motivated students who aspire to enter medicine and other health professions. In addition to content mastery, I emphasize executive function coaching. Many capable students struggle not because they lack intelligence, but because they lack structure. I work with students to create realistic study schedules, break large goals into achievable steps, track progress, and build consistent routines. Students learn how to plan weeks and months ahead, balance school responsibilities
As a dedicated tutor with over 4 years of experience, I am passionate about fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for my students. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Public Health and Political Science at Johns Hopkins University, I specialize in SAT Math and all levels of Mandarin Chinese. My teaching philosophy centers on building strong connections with students to enhance their understanding and confidence in the material. I believe that every student has unique strengths and challenges, and I tailor my approach to meet their individual needs. In my free time, I enjoy exploring new cultures through travel and reading, which enriches my teaching and helps me bring real-world perspectives into our sessions.
I'm passionate about helping students do better on standardized tests, AP subjects, music, and college admissions. Please let me know how I can best accommodate your student!
I'm dedicated and passionate about making science interesting and accessible to all! I believe that learning requires a real, genuine enthusiasm about the subject and it's my role as a tutor to both help guide the learning process and inspire students to discover their own motivation.
I have a passion for learning, so why not share my knowledge with other students just as motivated and excited to learn as I am!
I am a rising junior at Johns Hopkins University double majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology and the History of Science and Technology. It has always been a passion of mine to explore the details of science. Within these details, my curiosity engages me to pry and ask more questions. One of the ways I am able to do this is at my lab at Hopkins where I do research and design experiments on the neuronal membrane proteasome. Tutoring allows me to spread my passion for biology and chemistry, while also challenging my scientific knowledge. I encourage students to ask questions, will teach them how to apply their knowledge, and emphasize why an answer is correct. Getting the correct answer is not as important as understanding the fundamentals as to how someone arrives at that answer. I have previous experience teaching science through leading study groups at college and teaching high schoolers at my previous lab the fundamentals of biology, experimentation, and laboratory techniques. Outside of classwork, I have played saxophone for 11 years, enjoy running, and am a big New York sports fan.
There is brilliance in each of us. Sometimes we miss a concept or have developed learning styles that keep our brilliance hidden. Others of us just need a coach. For those, the "studying" of a thing is much less exciting than the "doing" of a thing. My job as your tutor is to help you discover your brilliance by packaging your study so you can "do".
When we are struggling, we often blame ourselves or our own insufficiencies. However, I strongly believe that no student is "slow" ill suited to the subject; rather, students who are struggling need a little support and an adult who is eager to invest time and energy into their success. In a tutoring session with me, you should expect to engage in the content you're learning in ways that best suit your needs and interests so that you can be successful and confident in class.I currently live in Dayton, Ohio but I've lived all over the country. I graduated with a dual major from Millersville University of Pennsylvania, where I was an active part of the honors college and graduated summa cum laude. I coached and tutored though high school and college, where I realized my passion for meeting students where they were and helping them succeed in their next steps. I taught several different courses of high school science for several years and loved it. My favorite part of teaching was building relationships and supporting students, which is why I am tutoring!I am most excited to tutor middle and high school science students, but I tutor many subjects for students of all ages. I enjoy the tutoring experience because of the one-on-one interaction allows students to get more individualized support that is rooted in their own needs and interests.
I received my Bachelor of Arts from Johns Hopkins University, with my degree in Anthropology, and a minor in Women and Gender Studies. Education has always been extremely important in my life, and subsequently I have sought out ways to share my knowledge with students as a tutor. I have tutored students ranging from the first grade through high school; every age/grade brings new and exciting challenges. I have experience successfully tutoring all general school subjects (English, History, Math, Science, Spanish), including English (ESL) to Spanish-speaking students, but my favorite subject to tutor would probably have to be English. I love challenging my students to accurately and grammatically express themselves through writing stories and learning new vocabulary words. I enjoy teaching them tricks to eventually self-correct themselves, use context clues to answer reading questions, and gain a better understanding of their English material. As a tutor, my style is to have fun with my students and establish a friendly bond. I find that this makes the learning come much easier, and paints a picture of their understanding beyond the homework page. I like to know what my students are interested in, how they enjoy school, their favorite subjects, their day-to-day, their extra-curricular activities, etc. Usually I find that my students already possess all the tools within to overcome any academic difficulty they may be experiencing. They simply need a little personal attention and encouragement to bring out their confidence and comfort with a subject, as well as a platform where they feel safe to ask any questions. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy staying active through yoga, running, dance, horseback riding, and sports. I also love to read and discover new music.
