I went to college at NYU Abu Dhabi, the world's honors college, where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, and I attended high school in New Hampshire at Phillips Exeter Academy. I have a Bachelor's Degree in French and International Relations and a Master's Degree in Urban Planning from New York University. I have always loved traveling, and I actually got to travel abroad for the first time on my own, when I was 15 years old. I stayed with a French family for a month in Lille. I loved it so much that I went back again the next summer. Then I got to spend my entire Junior year of college in Paris! It was wonderful to be able to attend classes at the Sorbonne, one of the oldest universities in the world, as well as the Paris Institute of Political Sciences (Sciences Po). After college and grad school, I've continued to travel abroad as much as possible, and I have always kept up my French language skills along to way. I'm also pretty decent at Spanish, am learning Greek, and have a little background in Italian too. I tutor students in French, and I find that the best way to learn it is to make it fun. Yes, of course we can't avoid learning the grammar, vocabulary, spelling, etc., but it's nice to mix in songs, games, clips from cinema and television, even cooking recipes. I feel bringing some of those things into the virtual classroom helps engage students and make them more eager to want to learn the language.
