While at Penn, I pursued my passion for child advocacy and education by participating in ABCS courses, serving as an active member of Big Brothers Big Sisters and working at the City of Philadelphia Department of Human Services to promote funding for after school programs. As a private tutor, I have worked with ages 5-15 in subject areas including Elementary Math, Reading, Writing, AP US History and Government, Literature and general study skills. My favorite subjects to tutor are Reading, Writing and History because I find that students can often find a great deal of personal meaning in these subjects which is very rewarding. My tutoring style is one that allows students to feel comfortable and respected. I am confident that any student can master whatever subject they set their mind to, and that this can be accomplished when tutors and students work together to determine how the student best learns. By being patient, observant and kind, I get to know my students both academically and as people. Outside of working, I love to have fun by taking dance classes, running, cooking, traveling or watching a funny movie.

Hello! I am a rising sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania. I am currently earning my Bachelors in Archaeological Anthropology with a minor in Ancient History, and earned my Associates while in high school at Tompkins Cortland Community College. The subjects I am the strongest tutoring in are English, history, ACT English, ACT Reading, and SAT English. I can also help with college applications, as I was accepted to all 4 schools I applied to: UPenn, Cornell, SUNY Stony Brook, and SUNY Binghamton. I was Valedictorian and currently have a 3.97 GPA at Penn. I was the first from my high school to get in to an Ivy League school, and so I know what it is like trying to achieve high academic goals while lacking resources to do so.
