I am a graduate from Adelphi University, New York. I have received a Masters in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology. During the course of my Masters I have tutored several graduate and undergraduate students to write their thesis papers and class assignments along with holding English-speaking workshops for International students. I have also taught younger age groups (5-15 years), as well as special needs children (ASD and ADHD). I hold a Bachelors in Dental Surgery as well from my home country India, and thus have a good command of human biology, science and healthcare topics, in addition to English and essay writing and formatting. I have been working as a Researcher at the University of Alberta for the last 2 years and have extensively worked on research paper writing, qualitative and quantitative research and would love to share my experience and expertise in the public health field. I am very passionate about learning and education and strive to keep myself abreast with the latest in the fields I deal with. I believe that education holds the key to our future and no one should be denied the right to a sound learning opportunity. I will strive to impart every bit of my knowledge to my students to the best of my ability. I am a very patient and easygoing person, and I try to support my students as much as I can.

I currently posses a Masters in General Psychology. I work with neurodiverse college-age students in an academic setting, where I assist with assignments and general organizational skills. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Study Skills/Executive Functioning, English, Grammar, Reading, and Psychology. I also prefer to tutor elementary through high school math. I am a firm believer in the power of education, and that if students are able to develop proper learning and study skills at a young age they will be able to carry them effectively through life. I am also a firm believer that every student requires a teaching method that is tailored to their learning style. In my spare time, I enjoy bikram yoga, hiking, video games, and the intense sport of paintball.
I have been an English Language Arts teacher for the past four and a half years. I adore what I do because of the endless possibilities that I am able to bring to my classroom. From literature to poetry, grammar and vocabulary, short stories and creative writing, my classroom is never a boring place to be. I hold my Bachelors Degree in English and my Masters Degree in Adolescent Education.
I am an international English and humanities teacher from the United States. My career in teaching began in the New York City Public Schools teaching immigrant children to speak English. Coming from a family of teachers and scholars who were also immigrants, this seemed a natural pursuit. From an early age I read deeply in classic literature and American history and took a strong interest in discussions and debate. Modern history, current events, military affairs and public policy are keen interests of mine. At university, I attained degrees in history, teaching English as a second language and educational administration. Close to my affinity for learning is my love for sports: golf, tennis, biking and the active life. People describe me as learned, friendly, witty and compassionate. Learning with laughter, participation and purpose is my basic approach to education. Through teaching Cambridge, AP and IB English and humanities courses internationally, I have changed and gown professionally. The core of my being is a love of the life of the mind. I find education to be a continuing discovery of truth, development of pragmatic skills and relationship building.
I have recently completed my final semester at Adelphi University, and I have received my Master's Degree in Literacy from Birth-Grade 12. Prior to attending Adelphi, I completed my Bachelor's Degree at Stony Brook University; graduating with a double major in English (Education) and Philosophy, and a minor in Political Science. I have my New York State Provisional English Teacher Certification for Grades 7-12 and Literacy Birth-Grade 12.During my studies for my undergraduate degree, I had a very positive learning experience student teaching both middle school and high school students in the Bayport-Bluepoint School District. I taught English in three seventh grade inclusion classes, and three tenth grade inclusion classes. I was successfully able to practice and understand how to differentiate instruction and scaffold my lessons. By becoming familiar with the different ability levels within the classrooms, I was able to meet the individual learning needs of my students, as well as tune in to their specific learning styles. I used this information to inform how I approached cooperative learning and assessments. This experience prepared me to embark on a career as a teacher by guiding my lesson planning, and helping me incorporate the NYS Common Core Standards into the lessons I taught.I am currently an English Substitute at Eastport-South Manor Junior-Senior High School. I teach mainly English classes from grades 7-12. This teaching experience is valuable, because I work closely with teachers and get to know the students very well. I have learned how to adapt to any classroom and execute any lessons that teachers have left for me to teach. Through my experience substitute teaching, I have learned a lot about myself as a teacher, and have strengthened my classroom management skills. Along with substitute teaching in this school district, I have also completed two leave replacement positions in my building. The first was a two-month leave replacement for a high school AIS English teacher in the spring of 2014. The second leave replacement also lasted two months, and it was for a middle school Wilson reading specialist in the fall of 2014. Both of these leave replacements helped me grow as an educator by teaching me how to plan and structure lessons and adapt my teaching to meet my student's needs. I hope to have my own English classroom one day, or even work as a reading specialist. My goal as an educator is to help students become independent and active learners, while engaging students in higher-level thinking skills.
Hello, my name is Lauren! I am a 4th year medical student at NYITCOM and will be graduating this May. I have a passion for teaching/tutoring with 10 years experience! Teaching English Language Arts allows me to exercise my two passions: education and literacy. Being state certified to teach English to students in grades 5-12 gives me the opportunity to teach and tutor a wide range of material. My M.A in English Education provides me with a variety of tools to use when leading students toward fulfilling their academic potential. My goal is to make students feel confident and comfortable in their learning environment, free to ask questions and seek answers. By allowing my patient and positive attitude to play a role in my tutoring sessions, I hope to guide students toward achieving their educational goals.
I'm Andrew and I have been learning Spanish for the past 10 years! My journey started on a summer adventure to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. Through traveling and meeting new people, I have been able to see the beauty in learning languages through real life experiences and conversation Whether you're a beginner or looking to become more fluent, I aim to create a relaxed, supportive environment where you can speak freely and make progress!
I recently graduated from Adelphi University with an M.F.A. in Creative Writing (Playwriting Emphasis), and I have a B.S. in Theater from Black Hills State University. I moved around a lot as a child, and I have lived in eight different states including Florida, California, Ohio and South Dakota. I tutor a variety of English-related subjects. I love all aspects of reading and writing, but I have a special fondness for grammar and mechanics. I like to think of punctuation as musical notation, and I love the process of figuring out which words and symbols best serve what I am trying to say. Writing is an agent for self-expression, and I am passionate about helping students to master it. The way that I go about this is dependent on each student's personal strengths, which I asses and then build upon. In addition to tutoring, I also teach Creative Writing and English Composition at Adelphi University. In my spare time, I love to explore NYC. I see as much theater as I can fit into my schedule. I also love visiting the city's museums and parks.
I've woven teaching into my entire life. Whether it was teaching disabled adults, young children volunteer, or being an adjunct professor in Master's programs, it's clearly a passion of mine. I am a certified PMI Authorized Training Partner allowing me to teach the new PMP Certification and a Verified Trusted Trainer earned by Course Conductor based on my excellent student evaluations. I earned my Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in 1999. I passed the exam on the very first try! I've re-certified every 3 years since then. I'm also certified by Microsoft to teach Microsoft Project and PowerPoint. I have prepped several thousand students on taking and passing the PMP and CAPM exams. I've developed test-like questions that I've given to many of my students. Their feedback tells me that my test-like questions are right in line with their actual exam questions. I have lots of exercises, tips and techniques for studying and passing the exams. I look for the learning in each and every day. No opportunity is wasted. I want to get people excited over learning as it increases their choices, is good for my soul, and makes life fun! It's my hope that you will in turn pay it forward to someone else. My hobbies are of course teaching and tutoring, and travel. I've visited over 50 countries and have taught in 35 of those countries. I love meeting new people, learning about different cultures and wish to teach at the university level in another country some day.

I am rising second-year law student at Hofstra University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Adelphi University. I started tutoring as a way to help out during the pandemic because I saw how students and educational institutions, as a whole, struggled during this hard time. Being a student myself, I know firsthand the frustration when you do not understand something and the patience required to be able to excel at a subject. There is nothing better than when a student not only begins to understand a concept, but also becomes enthusiastic about it and even loves it. I have a love for a variety of subjects that ranged from Spanish to Mathematics. I look forward to working with you!
