I like to set goals and have a tentative plan for each session while also being flexible to pivot to maximize student experience. I find great joy in witnessing my students achieve their goals, and I am committed to guiding them through their academic journey.

Hello there, I am here to serve and provide help any way I can. I enjoy working with people and finding common solutions that are relatable and fun. My biggest attribute may be that I want to listen first and am open-minded to creative solutions. Furthermore, Chess is a big hobby of mine used as a de-stresser. I've been playing since 3 years old and primarily enjoy teaching this to family and friends. It's not surprising that my primary teachings in this platform are Microsoft Excel (which I use daily), and Chess (my other superpower).

I am a graduate of Baylor University with a Masters of Education in Reading Specialist. I worked in the field of education for 28 years, 13 as a Special Education teacher in the resource classroom in middle school and high school and then 15 years as an Educational Diagnostician. I love to read and to instill the joy of reading in students. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and curling up with a good book.

With a B.S. in Neuroscience from Baylor University, and minors in biology and biochemistry, I have a passion for all sciences. I spent 3 years as a supplemental instructor for chemistry students, which made me passionate about tutoring and teaching beyond Baylor. I love seeing the "Ah-Ha" moment in students and helping them reach their academic goals. Learning should be exciting and stimulating, and I am here to facilitate that experience. My tutoring interests are mostly focused on Neuroscience, Psychology, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Test Prep. Outside of academia, I am involved in pediatrics research, local volunteering, and spending time with my dog.

I am most recently a graduate of Baylor University where I received a doctorate in Religion, Politics, and Society. I also have an MA in Religion from Andrews University, a law degree from Harvard, and I received my BA in Political Science from the University of Connecticut. I tutor in history, political science, GRE and SAT test prep, and in public speaking and essay writing. I enjoy political science, essay writing and public speaking the most. While working on my doctorate I taught students on the college level, and my philosophy for working with those students informs the way I tutor. I try my best to establish that we are a team, working together to get the right answers and to learn the material. I try to stay away from rigid hierarchy as much as possible, while still making sure that we get the work done. Outside of teaching I am a sports fan (Philadelphia fan forever! Eagles, Sixers, and Phillies in that order, as well as UCONN basketball), and I have recently gotten back into my childhood habit of reading comic books.
