I am currently a grad student at HBU and I taught Kindergarten last year. I am dedicated to learning, and my educational philosophy is that every child can/will succeed given the right tools and encouragement.I have a significant amount of experience in elementary education; particularly in: reading, reading comprehension, and phonics as well as upper level ELA (English Language Arts): essay-writing, proofreading, and editing. My teaching style is very interactive and hands-on, my most important goal is to meet your student's needs. My interests are running, teaching, cooking, traveling, volunteering, and being with family and friends. I believe that every day is a chance to grow and a chance for self-improvement, so let's begin!

Hi!Welcome to my varsity profile. Here is a short bio.I was born overseas and therefore obtained my B.S. degree in chemistry from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, a top college in my native land. Then I moved and worked in a pharmaceutical company for just a few months in the country of Spain. Right after my short experience in industry I came to the states and joined graduate school at Baylor University, where I got my Ph.D. degree in chemistry as well. Throughout my journey, so many years associated to the academic world, there were many changes but there was always one constant present and this was tutoring.I have been a tutor of chemistry ever since I stepped out of high school. I have tutor friends, friend's kids, and perfect strangers and my experience has always been so positive that it makes me enjoy helping others. For a couple of years while I was in graduate school I performed as a tutor for athletes at Baylor which was really great.Nowadays, I am a college instructor of chemistry at a local junior college so I feel fairly positive that I could help you achieve your goals as far as your chemistry class goes. I possess several of the most popular general chemistry and introductory chemistry textbooks and I can teach in both English and Spanish languages so I can accommodate to your needs if you wish so.I hope this info can fit your needs and hopefully we can meet soon!Best regards,D.C.
I am a 2004 graduate of Baylor University where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in education. I have been teaching for over 17 years from grades pre-k to 6th grade. I am passionate about helping others understand new concepts or concepts that are difficult to them. I have had many years experience tutoring in reading, writing, and math, but I am available to tutor in other content areas as well.
I am a current senior at Baylor University majoring in Neuroscience and currently on the pre-med pathway. I have tutored students and student-athletes for the last three years on various topics including algebra, calculus, psychology, genetics, and other high-level college courses.
I enjoy learning and wish to share that with others.
As a dedicated tutor with a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Baylor University, I have over 2 years of experience in tutoring a diverse range of subjects, including AP courses in Biology, Calculus, and Chemistry, as well as various levels of Math and Spanish. My teaching philosophy centers around creating a supportive learning environment where students feel empowered to ask questions and explore complex concepts at their own pace. I am passionate about helping students discover their strengths and build confidence in their abilities, which I believe leads to academic success. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy playing the viola and violin, which allows me to connect with students through shared interests. I look forward to guiding each student on their unique educational journey.
I became a PTA and certified personal trainer because I love to help people and I hope to bring that passion to Varsity Tutors!I graduated from Baylor University with my bachelor's degree in 2011 and from Pima Medical Institute in 2015 with my associates of applied sciences. A thorough understanding of any subject is important and the goal of learning is realized when ideas are presented and the subject is taught effectively. I dedicate my efforts to respecting the student's individual need and apply essential tools to address key concepts in every subject area to bring about the overall success of the student.
My name is Setareh, but my students can call me Seti. I attended Baylor University for undergrad and Baylor College of Medicine for my graduate program. I am now a 2nd year medical student at Nova Southeastern University with a strong background in the sciences and several years of experience helping younger students understand challenging material. As both a student and a tutor, I know how overwhelming school and exams can feel, so I focus on breaking concepts down into clear, manageable steps and creating a supportive, judgmentfree space where students can ask questions and build confidence. I am especially interested in tutoring any and all sciences and math in most K-12 subjects, college, and even medical school such as physiology, microbiology, biochemistry, cardiology, respiratory, G.I, endocrine, and renal systems. I enjoy helping students move from "I don't get this" to "I can do this" through practice, encouragement, and personalized strategies. My goal in every session is not only to improve grades and test scores, but also to help students feel more capable, independent, and excited about learning.
I love science and believe that understanding this subject is key to success in school and life. When working with students struggling in this area, I like to help them connect with the concepts through real life application and then break down the main points to increase understanding rather than memorization. My goal is to help learners build their science foundation one lesson at a time so they will get to a point where science just makes sense!
Hi! My name is Tyson, and I have been a teacher and school principal for a combined 16 years. I love learning in all subjects, but my very favorite is probably reading. Learning takes time, and I think it happens best in small groups or being able to talk one-on-one. I also have a three-year-old son, and we love reading books together.
Building confidence in struggling students is why I am a teacher. I believe that every student has the ability to be successful, but for many students the "traditional" approach is not working in a class full of students. I am a fourth grade teacher in Texas and studied at Baylor University. I have a Bachelors in Elementary Education as well as certifications in Teaching English as a Second Language and the Science of Teaching Reading. I love tutoring elementary and middle school students as this is a pivotal time time in their lives and often need to learn foundational skills to help them feel confident in our everyday classroom settings. I look forward to spending time with your students and their education is important to me! I want your child to feel confident in school as they face the upcoming year.

The writing level of any student can always improve, as enhancing these skills will help achieve higher education goals.
I love helping Anatomy and Physiology students find simple and logical elements of this incredibly complex subject. If you think of A&P as a foreign language imbedded in a science class, learning the new language first helps the science make more sense. I received my Master's in Sports Health-Clinical Exercise Physiology at Texas Tech, a program that allowed me to take gross anatomy at the Health Science Center in the cadaver lab, and my bachelor's degree in Health Science is from Baylor. I taught in higher education for 8 years at both colleges and massage therapy schools. I left full time teaching a few years back to be more available to my new family, using that flexibility to train clients (Certified Personal Trainer through NASM for 20 years). I am extremely passionate about helping people understand the body and how it works, either through teaching students so they are as prepared as possible for a career in healthcare or clients working towards the health of their body.
I am a pre-medical student at Baylor University and I am committed to education and love the changes that it can bring in people's lives. I am very excited to be able to walk alongside others and help fine tune the process of learning.

With meaningful tutoring experience, I strive to create a supportive learning environment that fosters confidence and curiosity. In 2004, I tutored English, French, Latin, and constitutional government for Baylor University's Student-Athlete Services and stayed there the first two years of law school. I love working with foreign languages. I speak English natively, French fluently, and Spanish and Arabic proficiently. I also can read and write Arabic.
Learning is one of the best things a person can do. But, there is nothing worse than sitting in class feeling like you are the only one that does not understand- trust me, I have been there. With that being said, I would love to be a part of the educational process that leads to the cultivation of new found understanding that restores the confidence you need to succeed. I believe I have the right tools to help you get there.
For 11 years I have tutored math and science, full-time, with high school and college students. For many years I taught math (pre-algebra to pre-calculus) and science (biology, chemistry, and physics) in the classroom. I have taught both basic and honors courses. I have a Master's degree in psychology and 3 additional years of college credit in education-related courses. This breadth of knowledge makes me a better tutor. Students appreciate my ability to describe things in a variety of ways to match their needs. They often thank me for my patience. I love my work. One of my goals is to help each student understand completely so that they can love to learn, too. I also love knitting and crocheting. In addition to teaching the basics, I encourage needelworkers to develop their creativity so that they can design their own projects.
I received a Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University, majoring in Psychology and minoring in both, Chemistry and Biology. Teaching middle school and high school math and science is a passion of mine and helping you reach your educational goals will be my joy and privilege. Algebra 1 is my favorite subject to tutor, followed closely by Algebra 2 and high school level Chemistry. My clients can expect a lot of practice problems and drills when working with me because it's my philosophy that there's only a certain amount that you can learn through rote memorization. Discovering what you don't know, mastering it, and being able to apply what you know is what gives rise to more complete understanding and ultimately what scores points on tests. In my free time I enjoy watching and playing baseball, mountain biking, camping, lifting weights, and teaching my dog Calvin tricks.

I am a patient tutor who believes that knowledge is power. Making sure that my students learn in the best way that they can is very important to me, so I make it my personal mission to ensure that the student truly learns the material and is able to problem solve on their own. There is always more than one way to explain a problem, so if the student does not understand in one way, I make sure to implement other methods to teach them so that they can understand to the best of their ability. There is no stupid question except the one that is not asked.I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Minor in English from Baylor University. I am a graduate from Baylor University, located in Waco, Texas. I received a Bachelor of Arts in French as well as in International Studies. I tutored many of my colleagues during my time at Baylor. I also volunteered my time as a tutor at the local middle school while I was in high school. I tutor in French, a subject I am incredibly passionate about. I initially studied French to get in touch with my French heritage and fell in love with francophone cultures, literature, and more recently, linguistics. I enjoy tutoring in French not only because of my personal enjoyment of the subject, but also because I understand all of the advantages of being proficient in a foreign language. Not only does learning a foreign language allow the ability to communicate with thousands of people in their native or socio-political tongue, but it also allows people to think and learn in an engaging way that is unique to language. There is a mix of patterns as well as abstract thought, working different areas of the brain. The idea of tutoring a subject that has so many complexities and benefits truly excites me. As a tutor, I generally have two goals. First and foremost, I provide individual attention to the pupil according to their individual learning style(s) and needs. I also tend to teach material in a way that will assist them in future lessons, primarily by revealing patterns rather than stressing memorization. Additionally, I recognize the reality of a student needing to improve their grades. My technique to improve grades involves a review of past tests and homework to develop an understanding of the teacher’s primary learning goals. This also helps me to get an idea of a pupil’s thought processes. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, baking, and traveling both around the world and around this amazing country, both for business and for pleasure.
"In her classroom our speculations ranged the world. She breathed curiosity into us so that each day we came with new questions, new ideas, cupped and shielded in our hands like captured fireflies. When she left us, we were sad; but the light did not go out. She had written her indelible signature on our minds. I have had lots of teachers who taught me soon forgotten things; but only a few who created in me a new energy, a new direction. I suppose I am the unwritten manuscript of such a person. What deathless power lies in the hands of such a teacher." John SteinbeckI chose teaching as a profession for all of those reasons. I want to share my love of the social sciences with the students and perhaps inspire them to pursue careers in that wide discipline. I want to leave my job each day with the knowledge that I have done something good. But more than anything else, I want to motivate my students to always chase after knowledge.
I am a graduate of Baylor University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. After graduating, I worked in an environmental lab as an organic extractions technician and decided to pursue my masters degree. I obtained my Master of Science in Chemistry from Stephen F Austin State University while working as a graduate assistant teaching freshmen chemistry classes. This experience led me to the high school classroom to teach Chemistry, Pre-AP Chemistry as well as AP Chemistry. While I love to tutor math as well as science, I am most qualified and most passionate about tutoring chemistry (as if has a little of both math and science). I am a firm believer that every deserves and needs education. I also believe that you continue to learn and educate yourself throughout your life. The learning process never ends and hopefully I can convey this to my students so that they can appreciate the process. In my spare time, I enjoy reading a variety of genres, walking, gaming and of course sleeping. Also, I love to watch tennis during the grand slams.
I am currently a senior at Baylor University studying Medical Anthropology and Biology. After graduation, I plan to pursue graduate work in public health. I've worked for the past two years on campus as an undergraduate tutor, mainly focusing on biology, chemistry, and English. I also enjoy tutoring for ACT and SAT preparation and believe anyone can succeed on these exams with the right strategies and preparation. I am also a certified ESL instructor and teach a local adult course. Additionally, I speak Spanish at an intermediate level.
I believe that each student can be a blend of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. Just as no human being has an identical fingerprint, a student may have diverse learning needs. My lessons and online learning activities will help students to master core objectives in grammar, math, social science, and other subjects. I enjoy teaching! I want my students to grow as independent learners. The human mind is capable of continuous growth!
