I believe that all students can learn. Even if they need a little extra help. I am fully versed with people with IEPs and 504 plans. I can accommodate work and lessons very well. I am passionate in seeing students grow and excel! I am a graduate of SAGU UNIVERISITY. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Intercultural Studies. Since graduation, I have traveled extensively, I have lived and taught in 4 American states and 4 countries, teaching in classroom settings as well as tutoring one on one in person and virtually. I am a current site director of an ESL school helping to improve English for immigrant and refugees where I live. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, math, and music. With my experience I love turning learning in fun where students can become excited about learning. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading with my kids, and exploring the outdoors.

I was born in Houston, Texas and was raised a small town in North Texas you've more than likely have never heard of. Some trivia about me: I've either lived in or visited the four largest cities in America and I've lived in and traveled to four different countries in the world (not including where I'm from and layovers). One last bit of trivia that's relevant to my work: I come from a line of teachers. In fact, everyone in my family that I have known in my life taught in some facet from university level all the way to elementary school. I've been a huge fan of all the pro sports teams in Houston since the Oilers were still around. As you may know they abandoned the great city of Houston and are now the Titans of Tennessee. I'm not bitter about being forced to cheer for the only Texas team, the Cowboys, for six years at all; but I digress. I love the Astros, Rockets, Texans, and Dynamo. Kudos to any who know what sports team the last one listed represents (without searching on the web, ha!). I've been married for over two years, and my wife is from Cebu, Philippines. We have one son who is six months old. Whenever we have some free time, we enjoy watching movies that we haven't downloaded from a website. I'm looking forward to learning a lot about you, and having some great conversations!

I am a graduate of Lamar University with an M.A. in English with a focus on writing and an M.Ed. in Education Administration. I have been both a junior high/high school English teacher and a college English instructor for 11 years. I've also taught P.E., Speech, Professional Communications, and Theater Arts. Also, I spent 2 years as an administrator for an elementary school campus. In addition, I have been a freelance copywriter/content writer for 5 years. While I tutor a wide-range of subjects, I'm most passionate about helping students become better writers. I believe that strong reading and writing skills will help students be successful in whatever they do. Also, I believe that every student can succeed if given the proper support and motivation. That's why I got into education and why I continue to tutor students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and watching fantasy and scifi, exercising, and writing both fiction and digital content.

I was a bilingual elementary teacher for 20 years, where I taught grades kindergarten through 5th grade. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I specialized in working with struggling readers and teaching English as a second language in grades kinder through second grade. In my experience, I found it best to instruct in a variety of ways to help each child engage in their learning and meet them at their level. I have a passion for helping struggling children by providing effective, consistent instruction in literacy so they can succeed.I graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I also received a Master in Reading from Regis University in Denver, CO.In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hiking, gardening, and traveling to new places in the US.

I have been teaching internationally for over 5 years, and the greatest joy I find in teaching is helping students achieve and surpass their personal learning goals.
